PTrojan59: Portsmouth needs more than just a couple of decent throws, and it's hard to control the line of scrimmage when teams know that the opposing offense is of little threat via the pass. I totally agree with you about the fatigue of the defense, which I stated above played fairly well despite the Blue Devils' 34 points. The D, though, must defend that flat pass if CG decides to include that in their offensive gameplan. The run game should still be the focus of the Trojan offense, but if there is little gain through the air, it puts a real strain on the O-line to open holes for Parker and Co.

Seen both teams play. I believe Coal Grove takes this one.

I think that you will see Portsmouth install that little sideline pass themselves. You want to blame orsmuth for not covering that sideline pass but they threw it to a receiver that had one catch all year. And you run it by putting your too best receivers out to that side and running them deep and then let the right end slide to flat. But that cost you 37 yards all night that did not kill you.

Your QB was 3-12. He had at least 4 balls hit kids in hands and they dried them. So that meant 7 of 12 passes on target and both QB’s had problems with the wind on a few balls.

I really think your worried that a really really good team beat a team that is learning to be good. I think you win 3 or 4 more this year.

I think with Coal Grove coming off a loss last week they take care of business this week. If they had won last week Portsmouth May have been able to pull one off. CG will be too focused coming off the loss though.

They need to win out. That Ironton game is going to be really tough. Probably our hardest one of the year. Take it one game at a time. Don’t overlook any team.

Any word on if Austin Stapleton will be out this week? That could be the difference for the Hornets this week.

Good Luck to the Grove Tonight!
I expect the smallest school in the OVC returning to playing with a chip on their shoulder.
Protect your home field and take it one game at a time.
