Jackson 69 Miami Trace 0

Post by Ironman92 »

Jackson looks to take care of business to continue FAC and playoff hopes. Jackson comes off of a huge win vs Washington while Trace may have been peeking ahead and letting McClain beat them at home. Miami Trace has 2 wins vs winless team but did somehow play Zanesville this a pretty good game.

The Ironmen play smart and disciplined and they should win by a few TD. Can’t be careless with the ball or you never know.

It would’ve great if Jackson could get out big in the first half and rest a lot of kids in the 2nd half. Last 4 weeks have required a ton of energy from many of our top players.

Jackson should win at home ,
However the FAC teams all have pretty good athletes. If Jackson is flat I could see it being close . Was 28-28 at the half last year . I’ll say Jackson 42 Miami Trace 28

Agreed . Jackson needs to stay as healthy as possible . Hillsboro will be a gang fight and will take any available Ironmen to get the win .

Miami Trace not the team from a few years ago. As far as I'm concerned it hasn't been near the program since Conroy retired. If losing to Greenfield MClain at home isn't enough proof,I don't know what is.

As much as I hate to say this Jackson should win this game fairly easy. There are ties over the years between the Jackson program and Trace program with two coaches from Jackson that also coached at MT in Randy Burnside and Al Riffey then add one of the more successful Trace head coaches being Jeff Conroy-might be the winningest coach in Trace history. I believe Fred Zechmen's record was 53-6-1 from 1973-78 before going to join Earl Bruce's staff at Ohio State. At one time in history this would of been the game for the FAC championship but not now a days.

As for the Fantasy game are would be around 58 or 59 now. The 77 Trace teams was loaded with three High School All-American's on the team with Art Schlichter-Ohio State, Glenn Cobb-Ohio State, Scott Grooms-Notre Dame. Plus there were seven players in Art's class alone that played college football. Both Miami Trace and Washington Court House had a lot talent go through there in the 70's. The first game between Trace and Jackson was in 74 with Jackson taking the game early 42-6 with Trace taking the next 3.

Jackson has had 5 different players rush for 95+ yards in a game....6 different rush for 70+ And 8 different go for 40+ in a single game.

That is good stuff! The 74 Jackson team i have family ties to it and also I am close to al riffeys son. He played QB for trace at a young age then at warren. I remember all the stories and just how good trace was then. I also played college ball at the same time as al’s other son that went to Marshall. Very good guy and family.

this is the week to go out and fix the little things.....but goodness whatever you do not get over confident and look past this week...WB made us pay dearly for that...... work on getting fine tuned with the elimination of mental mistakes.....the entire season we have been our own worst enemy.....false starts, blocking assignments, defensive reads, penalties, fumbles, etc....yes have been getting better but we are now in the time of football season that these cannot be a part of the football game.....its been a pleasure to watch this group mold together......October is here Ironmen.......time to make the run

Good luck to the Ironmen this week, should handle their business and get off the field in short order. The lead up to the Hillsboro game will generate some interest and to the winner a literal Harbin point bonanza.
