The death of a Georgia high school football player will give rise to more controversy about the safety of the game.
For debate: are more rule changes tor safety necessary to preserve the game in some form that we recognize or will football go the way of the dodo because we no longer allow our sons to play?

Death Of A High School Football Player
Re: Death Of A High School Football Player
An autopsy will have to determine cause of death first before any debate takes place. He may have had a pre-existing condition, possibly a cerebral anyeurism, that was likely to happen at any time.
The initial reports I've seen indicate nothing noticeable happening on the field. Apparently he was fighting off a blocker during a play, walked off the field afterward with no visible effects at the time - then went downhill while sitting on the bench.
In any case, it's very sad to hear a young person losing their life.
