Week 7 Picks: Against the Spread/Over-Unders (Athens County)

Hello readers, I am Michael Roth a freshman at the Scripps school of communication at Ohio University. With this new series I am going to be posting my spreads for the high school football games in the Athens county area, obviously these articles are for entertainment purposes only, and should help everyone gain more information on these teams. Athens At Meigs:
Spread: Athens -19
Total: 63
Athens has played very well after a tough week 2 loss, however with a soft schedule it is very possible, in fact even likely that Athens would be left out of the playoffs at 9-1. Winning every game in solid fashion will be crucial for the Bulldogs and Athens should take care of business on the road this week. Meigs comes in at 2-4, and after a tough loss to Nelsonville-York, Meigs comes back home for the first of three straight home matchups. Athens should be a comfortable favorite, but Meigs does have the ability to keep this one close for most of the game. Fantastic 50 lists this as Athens -12 and Cal Preps has Athens -17, with a total of 71.
River Valley At Alexander:
Spread: Alexander -6
Total: 45
Alexander pulled an upset last week over Vinton Country, taking that one 17-14 to get back to .500 this season. River Valley is still looking for their first victory of the season, but their defense could hold an advantage over Alexander, River Valley held Wellston to 20 points, Alexander gave up 49 to Wellston the week prior. Fantastic 50 lists this line as Alexander -11 but Cal Preps lists Alexander -1 with a total of 41.
Eastern At Federal Hocking
Spread: Eastern -33
Total: 54
Eastern is starting to find their footing after a rough start to the season, with two straight wins the Eagles should be confident making that number three after this matchup. Federal Hocking is still looking for their first win of the season, Federal Hocking has put up some points, scoring 30 in the past two weeks. Fantastic 50 has Eastern -16 but Cal Preps has Eastern -41 and a total of 47.
Nelsonville-York At Wellston
Spread: Wellston -3
Total: 46
Nelsonville-York came in with some fairly high expectations, but losing a strong senior class has caused some problems this season. After starting 0-3, the Buckeyes have taken two of their past three and have some positive momentum for the first time all year. Wellston is 3-3, but their games have been anything but even, their closest matchup this season has been 20 points, it will be interesting to see how they handle a game that projects to be close all night. Fantastic 50 lists Wellston -1 and Cal Preps has Wellston -2 with a total of 40.
Trimble At Miller
Line: Trimble -42
Total: 53
Trimble solidified themselves as a Division VII powerhouse with their dominant victory over Waterford. Trimble seems to have clinched a likely playoff bid as long as they take care of business the rest of the way, and getting a victory over Miller will get them closer to that goal. Miller does come into this game at 2-4, but the Falcons are 2-1 at home this season. Miller did struggle with other elite division seven team from the Hocking, losing 47-6 to Waterford. If Miller wants to keep this one closer than expected, they have to limit explosive offensive plays. Fantastic 50 has Trimble -31 and Cal Preps has Trimble -44 with a total of 44.
