Vinton County 35 River Valley 0

Post by Burnsdad#1 » Sat Oct 06, 2018 11:06 am

Thoughts on this one . The Raiders have struggled this season but with it being senior night I look for them to step it up and get their first win of the year .

How many weeks have we looked for them to step up (over come coaching?) and they’ve let us down so far.

Which team shows up for VC? The one that held a 21-7 lead against minford with a minute to go in the 3rd quarter? Or the team that dominated Alexander statistically but fell short in overtime? This game could be anywhere from a close RV win or a VC 3 score victory. I’ve learned with this years Vikings that nothing is impossible. So who knows!

Just don't think I see RV being able to score a whole lot here, take away 2 big scoring games and they've scored a grand total of 13 points in the other 5 games. Can see this game going in either direction but for now let's take VC by 1 score.

RV felt that same way in 2015 and 2016 about GA.

I agree greygoose. 14 points against NY and 14 points against Meigs were scored on the jv defense in those games when both NY and Meigs made mass substitutions. So it looks like R.V. scored 33 points total in 7 games. I will take V.C. in this one 21-7.

VC lost a tough game to Minford last week after having a 2 touchdown lead at one point. From week to week all year you never know what team from VC is going to show up. River Valley needs that first win so bad. I think it could be a very good close ballgame. I hope both teams have an injury free game.

That’s asking an awful lot right now out of RV...

Considering every game has been a dog fight for Vinton County, I expect this to be the same. Seems they play to their competition every week.

After their performance at Minford, I would say they have the momentum. If they feed Sibner and not turn the ball over they will win by 2 scores...however, they’ve struggled to pull through in crucial situations...so this could go either way.

it depends on what Vc team shows up. if it's the Vc team that played against SE then Vc wins big but if its the Vc team that got beat by Alex then it will be a dog fight

Would love to see RV get a win. Hope it's a dog fight, would much rather see a low scoring game, than a running clock by halftime.

VC wins 21-0. The big question is who has more, VC TD’s or RV first downs?

I just don't think River Valleys offense is there yet.Even though they lost last week after having a 2 touchdown lead, I think VC will bounce back and win by 2 or 3 touchdowns.

As much as I hate to say this, I look for VC to win this one. From what I've seen this year, all the weight lifting hasn't helped with playing the game. Fundamental have not been taught to this team, without fundamentals having strength from weight lifting is worthless. RV need to get back to basics and they need to start in the youth program and junior high. All of that goes back to the coaching. Plus, I see no real leadership on the team but I do see a lot of me, me, me players. Until they learn to play as a team, learn fundamentals, we will continue to see this team lose and I am not enjoying that at all! One other thing, when a team puts in their JV team it has always been football etiquette for the other team to put in their JV's. Who knows, the JV's might have been able to do something once the Varsity is defeated and hanging their heads in the game. Hoping that RV can get a win this Friday.

Rv has had a coaching problem all year. Now that we are going in to week 8 with no wins the kids don't trust the coaching staff and they don't have the heart.
