Burg 16
Valley 00

Very frustrating 1st half for the Indians.

Valley was inside the burg 15 on the 1st possession
Valley recovered a Burg fumble at the 2 - negated by penalty
Valley picked off a Burg pass and was called for PI.

All things that cant happen against a defending State champ.
Fumble was caused by Burg player being thrown down by his face mask. PENALTY. Correct call.

Interception due to Valley player crashing into receiver BEFORE the ball got there. PENALTY. Correct call.

Not sure about backwards pass. Not at proper angle to see.

Valley defense doing a decent job of slowing down Burg’s attack.

Correct???

Weird post. From my angle, I thought the pass interference was a bad call. The face mask is one that’s unmistakable. At halftime burg had one more penalty than valley. Valley had a couple of wrinkles at the beginning but in the end pirates were to much for them. #17 for valley was very good.

Burg flat, obviously looking ahead to west. Give Valley credit tho, as I said earlier Valley is well coached and will play hard the whole game.

what the hell do you guys want out there?

You have a great program. Great coaches. All the big money in the county.
You’re winning every game with a running clock In the SOC.
The best talent in the county is transferring to your school.
And you guys like somebody is cheating you ?? Really??

You have a great team. Celebrate a good win. Valley showed up and played hard.

But you had plenty of calls go your way. To hear anything different is funny.

I’m tired of that. You guys have it all. Don’t whine over some call against some school who graduates 70 kids. Lol.

wobycat,

I would agree with the PI, and the facemask I felt like forward progress was stopped prior to the penalty.

Valley played hard, were proud of that.

To say the refs kept Valley close would be asinine at best....unless I watched a different game live.

Congrats Pirates, good luck in the Playoffs.

I'll take Valley by double digits over minford next week. Valley has a clear edge in coaching in that one.

I apologize for being so fired up.
No reason to say that stuff on here. I just couldn’t understand how anyone could think refs were making that game close. lol.
I think Wheelersburg will struggle against a team that can pound them and has a smart secondary.
But Wheelersburg is a very good team..

My question is why wasn’t the valley coached ejected after coming all the way on the field and then not leaving. I personally think that was BS but then again I’m not a ref so I can’t say anything. But IMO he should have been tossed

That's a great question... Is he still there? Did they play the rest of the game with him there since he refused to leave?

During a timeout the officials allowed him to voice his displeasure with a horrendous pass interference call, and once they'd heard enough he went back to the sideline. Pretty standard stuff, but since you're not a ref you can't say anything.
