The decision was made by the school administration. My wife works there and it’s also posted on the GAHS FB page.

I brought this up originally on Saturday morning in the "Gallia, week 11" thread and thought it would come to this. Jackson wins again. They could have kept it in county @ River Valley but Jackson means a shorter bus ride and more $$$$$.

I cannot believe that this game will be played in Jackson. Not only taking away the home field advantage but people need to remember one thing. The last time Gallipolis was in the playoffs they won their first game at home because of a muddy, wet field because they knew how to play in the mud and the team they played never played on anything but turf. Why would you want to take away your advantage and since there are no team close with turf that isn't still playing or in the playoff, how will you be getting any practice on turf? Big mistake to take this game out of Gallia County. Good luck Blue Devils!

I would think Gallipolis would want to win because they are confident in their team’s ability, and not win because of forcing a team to play in a mud sewer pit.
Good grief! Typical whining Gallipolis.
Safety of the players needs to be the first priority.
Excellent decision to move it.

The school administration and a couple of coaches who have been breaking down licking valley tape since the ironton game..... really the only money school missing out on here is on concessions...
my opinion on this game was 80% chance of a little cling County win at memorial field to a 60% chance by moving this game to a place where blue devils can use entire play book.

Blue devils will still put 3 or 4K fans in stands the 30 minute trip to Jackson will not deter many.

It will just be really weird to set in home side bleachers at Jackson.

If Gallia academy thought they would have a better chance to win at home they would of figured out the field

Why do you think this is a shorter bus ride. River valley stands would be over packed onna average home game for Gallia bus ride

Did I not read that before the Ironton game, that Gallia possibly practiced at Oak Hills field because of Turf?

Anyone know if Campbell for GA is healthy? Saw him favoring his left leg in the 2Q of the South Point game.

Not the same field conditions and yes that was against a team who’s seniors never in 4 years had played on grass...

That is not the case with licking valley about half there games on grass every year... use your head if they thought they had a better shot at memorial field someone would of figured out the field issue.. this is all about giving your team best opportunity to win.

They practiced there to go through a few things only took about 16 kids helmets t shirts and shorts. I am sure if they want Jackson’s stadium they could gave it Friday night with Jackson on road

Cuts off about 30 minutes of driving time. From Newark (Hanover) 30 miles on 70 west /270 and straight down 23/35 to Jackson another 75 miles. Takes around 2 hr to Jackson. Using 70, 33 and 7 would be 2.5 to Gallipolis. Just thought RV field could keep the game in county. $$$$$

Ok shorter for licking valley. Don’t know how many $$$ it would keep if river valley would of even been interested but when most people pay the price for a playboy ticket they should have the option to sit

I have no idea what lickingy valleys offense is like but got a feeling that they may run it a lot behind big offensive tackle jarrod hufford 6’5” 300 lbs Iowa state commit. But that would only be a guess

Jackson loves football , and Gallia academy being such a big part of Jackson tradition I think you’ll see a lot of Jackson fans cheering for the devils
