My night cap game yesterday was Salem at West Branch. A very big rivalry game,between two teams that feature two teams heading in different directions. West Branch limped in on a two game losing streak, that knocked them out of state playoff contention, where as Salem came in riding a two game winning streak, though they had been out of the playoff hunt a while back.

Salem would drive downfield on its opening drive slowly, with 10:30 showing on the clock Turner Johnson pounded it in from one yard out. A two point conversion run from Cade Campolito made this an 8-0 game.Campolito, the Quakers talented running back would have a solid day, when all was said and done. He rushed for 174 yards on 24 carries.

West Branch would respond on its first drive, when Jesse Rastetter took the snap out of the wildcat formation and raced 26-yards for the score.Jared Butler kicked the point after to make this a 8-7 game.

Things were looking good for the Quakers, then a bad snap sailed over the head of Johnson.Rastetter raced back to the ball and pounced on it like a tiger on a injured zebra. From there the Warriors would get a 5-yard run by Rastetter again out of the wildcat to take the lead. The point after said over the crossbar to give the Warriors the 14-8 lead.

Salem wasted little time responding with a score of their own, when Johnson raced for a 36-yard score. He broke to the right and went untouched. Speed and nice blocking was the biggest reasons he scored so easily. The teams would head to the locker rooms all tied at 14 apiece.

Both teams scored once in the third, with the Salem score resulting in eight points, that gave them a lead they never relinquished.
Salem used a double reverse with a pass twisted in to take the lead. Niko Walker took the pitch and threw a 12-yard pass to fellow wide receiver,Luke Weingart for the score. Robbie Sarginger pulled in the two-point conversion pass, making this a 22-14 game, with 4:30 left in the quarter.

West Branch had worked the ball down to the Quakers five yard line, where they called on Thomas Caserta, who plowed into the end zone pulling the Warriors within two points. A two point conversion run by Jesse Rastetter was stopped by a host of Quakers to keep this a 22-20 game.

The Quakers got one final touchdown on a Johnson to Weingart pass from five yards out, then another two point conversion try was successful, when Johnson raced into the end zone, making this a 30-20 game. That would also be the final score.

One of the biggest differences in this game was the play of #5(NOT LISTED ON ANY ONLINE ROSTER I HAVE FOUND)
The kid seemed to be anywhere the ball was and he seemed to hit like Jack Tatum did back in his prime.

I listened to this game on the radio. There were big playoff points on the line for Marlington, Alliance and West Holmes in Region 9. It sounded like a decent game.
