Ultimately though, posters from both fan bases can make all the comparisons they want. We can post statistics from this year’s teams. We can analyze schedules, look at sizes of schools that were played, etc.

However, I think most football fans will agree that the best barometer with which to try and analyze is a game that happened 12 months between these 2 very same schools.
I just don’t see how the result will be that dramatically different this Saturday night with similar rosters, schemes, etc.

I think that’s why so many Burg posters are confident this upcoming game. But that’s why the game is played. Looking forward to it!

You will have no answers and all excuses in a few days. Jackson laid an egg at Granville bunch of youngsters but whatever. The home team feel will be overwhelming for the burg. Since the Johnnies beat Licking Valley, that is a quality win. Licking Valley is good year in and year out. I believe this game will be a battle again for both teams. No, they didn't handle Itown very well but historically Ironton gets tougher as the year goes on. I am a Burg fan but I think if Johnnies come out strong, should be a good game. If the real deal Burg team shows up it could be a long night for Jtown.

I’m positive this WILL NOT be the best D Burg has faced. More than likely this is the best D Jtown has faced. Skill players being the same on both sides, Jtown rb’s and qb have not gotten exponentially faster in 12 months, and same for burg. If I’m handicapping this, burgs got better Oline, Dline, backers, secondary and skill positions.

Orrville defeated Manchester 43-19 in the Regional Finals. I would think we could agree that sounds like a dominating win.

Week 8 of this season Manchester defeated Orrville.

Lose by 36. Win by 24 in a 5 week span.

Don’t know what it’s like up there in the surrounding areas of Johnstown but down here we’re like brothers. Fight amongst ourselves but once it gets to be one of us against someone from outside the area, most of us root for one another...I can’t wait to watch this game!

You’ve heard no such thing from me...and you do realize that the number of posters on these forums pales in comparison to the number of people in our community, right? I saw evidence of it last year during Burg’s title run, in the various school jackets and apparel in the stands and well wishes lining the road to Canton. I’m sorry you feel that way but I would gladly attend an area school’s tournament games and cheer them on.
