They’re going to try to.

The MSL is better off without them playing football, all things considered. What the league should do is make an exception for Millersport when it comes to a sports obligation and let the Lakers play an independent schedule. Losing proposition for everyone if they end up trying to play an MSL schedule.

Thanks, my friend. I do agree with the Lakers going indy for a time. Let them schedule some teams, like themselves and hopefully get some wins and build some numbers.

Kind of an update, here, because I received some new info earlier tonight at our boys game.

The MSL is not making the schools play Millersport in football next year, from what I understand. The schools have a gentlemen’s agreement to play Millersport, however, if they can’t find an alternate opponent for the week they otherwise would’ve been scheduled to play Port. Their game that is listed as playing at FC in week 10 is only written in pencil, as we are trying to find a different opponent for that week. Supposedly Cleveland Central Catholic called us for that week, but that’s probably not going to happen for a bunch of obvious reasons.

With the regular season(Thursday&Friday) being more local for me, I hope the Lakers do field a team. About a 10 minute drive for me.

Millersport isn’t fielding varsity football.

Week 10 for FC will be home versus Troy Christian.
