Steubenville Central Catholic beat Weirton Madonna (WV) 43-7 on Thursday night. This gives them a bunch of points because Madonna I believe was 7-0 coming in. Upsets can still happen but looks like the top 8 teams will come from the following 9 schools: Nelsonville York, Southeastern, Coal Grove, Shenandoah, Fort Frye, Shadyside, Steubenville Central Catholic and either Galion Northmor or East Knox. The order will have to be finalized in the next 2 weeks but those are the Big Dogs in Region 23.
Fairbanks, Grandview Hts, Lucasville Valley and Marion Elgin will need miracles to happen to get into playoffs.
Had Steubenville CC lost to Madonna the door would have been opened for Fairbanks, Grandview Hts, Lucasville Valley and Marion Elgin.

Steubenville CC is probably the 2nd best team in the region since getting those transfers week 5. They have 2 really good Rbs and Levi Thompson is that dude at defensive end. If East Knox can with vs either Highland or Danville and Fort , Shadyside , or Shenandoah stumble at the end of the year that could open the door for East Knox. I personally think East Knox loses both games and the 8 teams now will make it.

Fort Frye actually upped the schedule tremendously from the last 2 seasons. I mean 3 playoff teams in Waterford , Shenanandoah, and SCC plus a 6-4 Monroe team. Also how was Fort to know that Barnesville was going to be so down. Also you don’t see many teams from Southeastern Ohio playing D5 Northridge. I get it there not fantastic but they are better then most teams in the area I’d love to play that game again. Also I wouldn’t mind getting rid of Belpre on the schedule last 2 years they have just given up at the end of the year.

It's great prep for week 11. Playing Central in week 10 would basically be an extra playoff game. I don't see any downside.

Hmmm...downside is this...fort loses to shenandoah tonight....loses to scc next week...at 7-3 probably puts you playing nelsonville York in the first round...and we all know what would happen then...alot riding on this game tonight
