A bit surprised that PV checks in at #3, don't believe that they have ever been ranked this high pre-season. We did not look good losing to Shadyside just 9 months ago, but returning a lot of starters and having probably its fastest team ever should bode well. After playing Marion Pleasant and Newark Catholic early we should know if this is that good of a team.

Props to the Fort Frye program. School has really stepped up on the football field. Lofty expectations.
Watch out for Cadets if they are still unbeaten after playing Wheeling Central because they'll run the table.

Surprised Paint Valley listed so high after watching them vs. Shadyside in playoffs last year.
And speaking of Shadyside why aren't the Tigers at least a top 10? They lost a QB and TB but have a lot of skill returning.

I'd say defending state runner up Trimble with almost an entire roster returning has the biggest gripe.

Reedsville Eastern should be mentioned. And they will be even better next year. The little feller has them jelling right now and if they can avoid injury on a player or two they will shock the Hocking that has two other legitimate deep playoff type teams in it. Moving some players around on offense will be like providing some high octane fuel to a fire. And with "T" added to the staff the coaching will be there too.

Definitely should've had Trimble on the list, but I looked up the guy that did the story. He's just a young fella.

Just one guys opinion but it’s pretty cool. Fort Frye will be tested many times playing the toughest schedule in school history. They are loaded and the young QB looks great in shells. I’m really worried about injuries when playing a schedule like that. Fort line is much bigger and return 8 on defense. Tyler Fisher and Brian Atkins will be great RBs. Look for 6-3 Wr Brady Schilling to have a big year.

Being “one dimensional “ as u call it. Would have thought your eagles could have kept it closer then 35-0

Fort Frye has never been ranked preseason #1 in football anywhere, so it's pretty cool recognition, for sure. I think the two teams that went to the state finals both changed divisions, and Fort Frye made a good showing in the semis. With as much as they return, it's a safe pick.

Tough Schedule will make them better if nobody gets hurt.

Shadyside moved back down to DVII

It looks to me like the writer probably overlooked some teams that changed divisions.

Yeah he has a few teams in the wrong division. I would think Trimble should beat Fort Frye by a couple scores this year
