This game will be closer than most expect. Game is played at Ashland. Officiating will keep this game closer than most believe. Games are called differently when officials only have to answer to one side. Perfect example last night with Minford at Greenup Co. (Ton of penalties against Minford) Ashland at Wheelersburg. Touched punt not called against Wheelersburg and 80 yard touchdown called back against Ashland. Plus it is a rivalry game so anything can happen.

Can’t go by that! Burg finally found a true QB they didn’t have during the Ironton game. Now burgs offense plays the whole field and mixes it up well. It was a hard hitting, physical game and both teams left it all on the field. Ironton travels to Ashland which is going to be difficult with them losing last night. I wish ironton the best as when we cross the river we all stick together but the guys in the stripes shirts are not like over here in Ohio. Like last night Minford crossed the river and had 25 penalties to, 2 for Greenup. Last night I sat with Ashland crowd and they said(not knowing where I was from) that when Ironton come across the river that their refs are ready for revenge whatever that mean.
It’s sad to think that the zebras have say in outcomes of these games. Let the kids play and let them decide the outcome

Ashland is a soft football team this year. The 2 running backs are good, elusive, and speedy, but their line isn't physical and the defense is small. This will be exposed in a big way this week against Ironton and later this season when they play Russell. It's a matter of boys against men. Football is a physical and violent sport. Ashland is about to get that lesson this week just as Wheelersburg did in week 1.

Ashland didn’t look as good as Ironton to me but good enough to challenge The Tigers.

Wheelersburg is improving and was at home which is also a factor.

This one being in Ashland gives it just a little doubt.

Posters at Greenup County last night report the penalties were 25 for Minford and 2 for GC. That seems unbelievable but it’s posted. That also could provide an issue.
I think the actual number was more around 14 but I hope ironton doesn’t get the crew we had last night in Greenup or your linebackers will be getting tackled by blockers all night

This opinion is bad, no offense. The last two drives of Ashland that resulted in tds came about because the lack of holding calls from the official on burgs side. The coaches were screaming for it but he didn’t give it to them. You can’t pick out one play and say that TD was called back because of a hold purposefully or you think he touched a punt. Both teams made mistakes and the officials were pretty even. Game could have went either way. The greenup Minford game however sounds like a different story

I'll take ironton. Kentucky football just isn't physical enough for the buckeye boys.

It could be different but ironton is a good football team. They’ve proved it.

Earlier in the week, Pirate fans were complaining because Ironton fans and other fans were highjacking their topics. Hmmmmm ...... now the script has flipped. Wheelersburg fans trying to highjack an Ironton topic. “But when we do it, it is OK. We shouldn’t be expected to follow the same rules as others. We are just adding our point of view”. LMAO!!

A few years ago some Ironton fans explained why they'll beat Ashland with an, "it's only Ashland" and Ashland smacked them that week. Lol. That's why it lives on to this day.

No, the difference is you have two or three itonton posters that continually trolled burg topics for two weeks. And, that’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it 😂
