It’s a fight for the last spot. Between Portsmouth and wellston. Ridgewood, Ironton, burg, minford, Amanda-Clearcreek are a lock. Johnstown and Columbus academy should get in. Wellston has a tough one Friday and Portsmouth has to beat Chesapeake and Fairland. Going to be fun to see how it turns out.

Projections from Drew Pasteur
1. West Lafayette Ridgewood (10-0) 22.25
2. Ironton (8-2) 21.30
3. Minford (8-2) 18.60
4. Wheelersburg (6-4) 18.60
(Top 4 earn a first round home game)
5. Amanda-Clearcreek (8-2) 18.05
6. Gahanna Columbus Academy (7-3) 16.58
7. Wellston (8-2) 15.20
8. Portsmouth (8-2) 15.15

But this is based on projected records. I don’t see Ridgewood losing with their schedule. There are some key games coming in the next 4 weeks that will determine seeding.

Wood plays AP ranked 6-0 Garaway this week, who has been the Wood's rival game the past decade and only regular season loss a year ago. No gimme by any means, but weeks 8,9 and 10 shouldn't be contests.

Ridgewood will be the number 1 seed. Ironton 2. I believe clearcreek 3 and burg will be 4. Minford could be three or 4.

Ridgewood mostly juniors this year? I remember reading they were pretty young last season but can't remember if young as in freshmen or sophomores mostly.

Good catch soldier. I totally missed Garaway. That will be a war.

Burg wins out, they’re at 22.25
Ridgewood at 10-0 is at 22.25
Minford at 9-1 is at 22.15, 8-2 is at 18.60
Ironton at 9-1 is at 25.90, 8-2 at 21.30
Amanda CC 9-1 is 21.15, 8-2 18.05

Ironton’s region to lose.

Wood has 11 seniors on roster, Start 6 on offense, 3 on Defense

15 Juniors 3 starters, sometimes 4 on Offense , 6 on Defense

21 Sophomores 1 sometimes 2 starters on Offense (QB is a soph) 2 on Defense.

24 Freshmen

If Johnstown wins out they will probably be the favorite on the road week 11. Their schedule is brutal

Ridgewood has a lot of talent this year. QB is a Soph with loads of talent. Probably 1 or 2 in the area for talent. OL and DL are big with speed and agility that goes 6,7 deep. RBs and WRs are good. Garaway will be a difficult game. They are Woods true rival. Game should be a 7pt or less one way or the other.

ironton just needs to keep taking care of business and playing sound fundamental football, and block all this out. and let the computer figure it out. but I love Ohio's playoff system. it is designed to reward teams that are winning, but will kill you if your opponents aren't.

Yep, that's what hurts Jackson and Athens in DIII with just 1 or 2 losses they either don't make it in or are a lower seed and have to travel in wk 11. The OVC , SOC, SVC and TVC (Hocking) are small enough where even with the bottom feeders losing a lot of games the wins by the good teams out of conference over another 7 or 8 win team can get you in with 3 or 4 losses at year end. Scheduling non patsies will pay off come playoff time. Everyone wants to complain about the Catholic schools and their advantages but many over the years have been in the playoffs with 4-6, 5-5 and 6-4 records over 9-1 and 8-2 teams that play lesser competition.

We really need another week, but as of now this is how I see it ending up:

1)Ironton 25.90
2)Ridgewood 22.5
3)Minford 22.20 Minford wins tie breaker due to first level points.
4)Wheelersburg 22.20

5)Amanda CC 18.05
6)Wellston 17.95
7) Col. Academy 16.53
8) Portsmouth 15.15

If Ridgewood loses this week, they go to 4th at 18.15
Minford and W'burg could flip-flop depending on what happens with Minford/Waverly. If both lose, they drop to 18.55.

Jackson was 7 seed last year at 7-3.

Yep, but some years are leaner than others and Granville @ home in the LCL was way too much for the Ironmen much like the game @ Independence who was 8-1 which i watched the year before and that's what I'm saying about a 1 or maybe 2 loss season and a top 4 seed although Gallipolis @ 9-1 got hammered as a home #2 seed last year by another LCL team in Valley who was a #7 seed @ 7-3. A tougher league makes you better at year end regardless of league.

Those Jackson teams were good not great

In D3 football , which is the best , Jackson and Athens type teams have to have great teams , by their standards, to have a shot ant winning in playoffs
