In my opinion, bigger is not better when it comes to schools.
For those of you who are touting the positives of consolidation, I say "prove it." I would like for you to give me the percentages of students who get full academic college scholarships in large schools and in small schools. Give me percentages of students who graduate from college between the two, etc. If you are going to be on here saying how wonderful it is, give us some facts to back it up and tell us where the facts came from.

Increase in Enrollment would not be much more than it was in the 80's when Burg went to the state with Todd Staker and crew.

I am not trashing green...im just saying that the academics are higher, the level of discipline in the classroom is higher, and the faculty at Burg simply expects more...I know kids from both schools, and it is obvious that Burg runs a much more strict school with a more academically challenging curriculum...maybe thats not how it was when you went to school, but thats definitely how it is now...look at all around test scores, not only ACT, but OGT, proficiency tests, and any other standardized test, and the Burg kids have it...Im not bashing Green, I know lots of good kids from there, I am just saying that there is a gap in between the two schools academically speaking...

and just because you are smarter than your family doesnt make Green smarter than Burg...look at the majority of the students

there is obviously a gap here...

Distance in miles via Yahoo Maps.

Wheelersburg - Franklin Furnace - 6
Wheelersburg - South Webster - 12
Wheelersburg - Minford - 11
Wheelersburg - Sciotoville - 3

Minford - South Webster - 14
Minford - Sciotoville - 9
Minford - Franklin Furnace - 17

South Webster - Sciotoville - 12
South Webster - Franklin Furnace - 19

Sciotoville - Franklin Furnace - 9

South Webster to Franklin Furnace would be the longest trek... but a more centralized location would be ideal. However, are 15-20 miles really that far?

How many people work in Ashland, Jackson or Chillicothe and live in Scioto County?

consolidation makes sense considering the state, and area is in as much debt as it is...but consolidating Burg and Green is simply asanine

While they never competed in the old PCL, I will add that St. Aloysius in New Lexington (who won the 1954 Class A state title in men's basketball) were known as the Blue Knights.
