Ironton building a full indoor practice field???
Ironton building a full indoor practice field???
Rumor is Ironton has the funding to build a full indoor practice field next to the stadium. Heard it’s going to be a full field with a huge weight room, locker room, luxury seat box and Hall of fame. If this is true, WOW . Ironton will then also have the best facilities in the area. Coach Pendelton is putting his stamp on the program and the direction he wants athletics to go if this happens.

That should make recruiting less stressful and much easier.

Re: Ironton building a full indoor practice field???
As I understood it, the funding is not secured yet and this is an idea that had originally began in 2019. A fundraising event was planned at the Rona with several scheduled speakers listed and the key note speaker was scheduled to be Ohio State HC Ryan Day. The event was initially publicized but then canceled last year because of covid. Haven't seen any promo regarding the event being rescheduled. Initially it was said to be for an indoor practice & developmental facility. Built where the old practice field area location. If the funding has been secured quietly some other way that's an interesting development considering the initial projected price tag on that project. I'd be curious to know how that was accomplished.XandOs wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 10:35 pm Rumor is Ironton has the funding to build a full indoor practice field next to the stadium. Re: Ironton building a full indoor practice field???
I was told Burg is doing the same thing. They will also have a Wendy's in there. I have been told that 4 players from IMG Academy have already verbally committed for next season. And Urban Meyer is coming to be assistant coach. Lmao I did not hear that about Ironton but that would be pretty cool. I don't see how any school around here would come up with that kind of money. If they had the money for that why not just make there actual stadium way better?
Re: Ironton building a full indoor practice field???
The initial plan is public knowledge. I will never ever understand why rumors and misinformation is so widely chosen over easily accesible information but I guess it is what it is. Op is exaggerated. I included ACTUAL readily attaintable info above.

Portsmouth is doing the same thing. They are tearing down the library and crispy cream donut shop to build a indoor practice facility, state of the art weight room and a 3 lane bowling alley. Huge news is they have some of the kids/adults from bishop sycamore committed and will be living in the 12 bedroom apartment that’s being built on top of the new facility.

Re: Ironton building a full indoor practice field???
All joking aside… This project is really happening. The rumor came
From a very reliable Fighting Tiger and it will be announced soon. I’ve heard they have been working on the project for over a year now. Also heard there will be stadium upgrades to go along with it. Source said visitors side bleachers and press box. Possibly adding bleachers across endzone, scoreboard and 25 second play clocks. The facility is suppose to be built where old swimming pool and park is behind visitors side of bleachers from my understanding. We will find out soon.

I was told it will be a lot like Logan’s facility. Love the idea of the Hall of fame. The town will love that. Heard this facility will also have indoor hitting areas for baseball/softball. A 10,000 square foot weight room possibly used as a community wellness center as well. The facility will also be used to host events. Maybe a wrestling room for Irontons new wrestling team.

Does Kirtland have one? Wow, Ironton is really out doing themselves. Wonder where the money is coming from because you know the state isn’t paying for that. Didn’t realize Ironton or Lawrence county had that kind of money. We definitely don’t in Gallia.XandOs wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 9:50 am I was told it will be a lot like Logan’s facility.
