Could Symmes Valley get in at 1-9?

That's my squad but a matchup vs. Newark Catholic will be rough.

Joe Eitel shows that they control their own destiny so if they win against Northwest they make it at 2-8.

I don’t think they make it at 1-9

Looking at it I would say yes..they get in
Miller vs bishop rosecrans .. would pick miller to win
Shadyside vs Monroe central.. would pick shady to win
Manchester vs RV … would pick RV to win
Beallsville vs Van …would pick 7-0 Van to win
And the other two teams fisher cath and millersport I don’t believe win…
I don’t see anyone leaping them…

That is what’s wrong with 16 teams getting inn.

Why would a 2-3 win team even want to go to playoffs??

If you can sell this from a program perspective with the turnover they went through, what a year!

A lot of people talking that “do you even wanna go?” talk, of course you wanna go! There are teams across the state that have gone decades without getting to experience a playoff game. It’s an extra week to develop and work with the team and its an experience that is priceless if you’re hoping to make future runs. I’d go 0-10 every year and happily go to the playoffs if it could be done.

You do realize they can opt not to play in the playoffs, right? For some teams they may never get to experience it, a 3 win Olentangy team who was a 16 seed lost by 4 to an undefeated Big Walnut team, plus there were multiple 15 and 16 seeds who pulled off the win last year as well. That's why they'd want to go for the opportunity.

Totally agree. 12 would have been the perfect number.

There's NO WAY, NO WAY, that a 1-9 team should make the playoffs!!! That is just plain crazy.

They will only play 9 games in the regular season but your point still stands.
Team will finish the regular season on an 8 game losing streak being outscored by an average of 25+ while playing the 18th easiest schedule in D7 (according to fantastic 50).

I guess their "reward" is an extra week of practice , a 2022 playoff shirt and a 6 hour round trip to lose by 50 if NC takes it easy.

Obviously it's not their fault the OHSAA wants to make more $$$ and they are in the worst region in the 50 year history of the harbin points system.

What coach or AD is going to tell his team they are forfeiting their "playoff" game.
It used to mean something to get in.
Now it's a ribbon for everyone because the OHSAA wants your money.
