Portsmouth typically plays GA pretty tough, but I'll say GA by 21.

Love to see all the portsmouth players back, especially the Williams kid! They need him more than anyone.

I think that the Trojans are very capable of having success on offense, I'm just not sure how confident I am that they will be able to transfer that success to the scoreboard against the Blue Devils. These two teams have played some very good football games between them in the past. Let's hope that it's a very good game, and that it's an injury free game for both teams.

I’m pretty sure Heiland, Cobb & Livingston will all be back for the game. Any word on Boren? I seen him on crutches leaving the Rock Hill game, would be a huge blow if he’s out. Is this the game JT Williams returns or are we looking at another week? Looked to me his cast is off and his hand is maybe in some sort of brace.

Portsmouth plays the devils tough usually!! Would love to see the devils continue to improve up front and also do a much better job containing the edge. I am sure coach carter will work on containment technique this week. Sealed inside wayyy too many times Friday night. Also at some point a team will make us pay if we continue to tackle shoulder pads. Hope for an injury free game for both sides. I would predict a Devil victory but it could be anywhere from 21 to 3 points. Hard to predict a Devil/Trojan game.

Gallia is the better team and have to think that they take care of business against Portsmouth. If Portsmouth can throw the ball and keep Gallia off balance they can hang around and keep the game close but Gallia too much talent to not beat Portsmouth this week imo

Gallia Academy is 22-11 all time vs Portsmouth.
Portsmouth has only beaten Gallia Academy 3 times since 1992; 2007, 2009, and 2016.

Portsmouth finished 8-3, 7-3, and 6-4 in those seasons.

Portsmouth is 2-2 so far and their last two games have went into OT. Their opponents are 8-8.

Gallia Academy is 4-0 so far and their opponents are 5-8 (Point Pleasant has only played two games).

GA is averaging 39.5 points per game and giving up an average of 8.25 points per game.

Portsmouth is averaging 30.75 points per game while giving up an average of 28.75 points per game.

Portsmouth needs to put the ball in the air more if they want to be the blue devils, the ground and pound offense works only for a short amount of time before good teams catch onto, which the blue devils are definitely capable of. The QB for Portsmouth is the only consistent player so far that can do something with the ball, he’s fast and I think the devils are gonna have a hard time containing him!

Honestly don’t think it was the kids fault that Peake broke contain. For example, just watch the last touchdown on peake’s maxpreps. Gallia had 3 defenders to their 5 blockers pre-snap. To make it worse, 2 of those 3 defenders were already inside of their blocker by the formation. After the snap, Peake pulled the play side guard and ran the jet sweep. That was just a matter of being out schemed. Unfortunately that same scenario played out a lot Friday night.

Portsmouth needs to throw the ball to keep teams honest. Williams showed he can throw the ball, wideouts were getting open. Mix that in more and more and teams can’t just key on the run. The Trojans are still pretty banged up, hoping they can get several guys back and healthy for this game, if not it’ll be a long night, could very well be anyways. Will be making my 2nd ever trip up to Gallia this Friday.

Gallia didn’t “accidentally” leave the sprinklers on like they did back in 2019 did they? Lol

Portsmouth's playoff hopes are definitely in front of them. All the games remaining are against teams that are either 4-0 (Gallia Academy) or 3-1 (Coal Grove, Chesapeake, Fairland, South Point, and Ironton. The Trojans are currently 20th in Region 19. Top 16 make the postseason. Even with the 2-2 start, there's still a lot of computer points available for the Trojans.

I remember that. No rain in site and the field was absolutely soaked.
