Gallia will have to regroup after a heartbreaker against Fairland. Plenty for the staff to clean up and still plenty left to play for, this season.

These two teams usually play each other pretty tough. Both come in with heartbreaking losses from their last game. I’m pulling for the Grove. But I’m afraid that Gallia is more athletic and will give the Hornets fits. Coal Grove can help themselves with long sustained drives.
Gotta keep the ball away from the Blue Devils and not get in a track meet.

Gallia will be angry. Coal Grove will pound the rock. Gallia is able to throw the ball and spread you out. Gallia is athletic but I think Coal Grove is more physical. With that being said Gallia wins the game if the stop the run and take care of the football. Last week they turned it over 5 times and still put 35 up on Fairland. I don’t think Coal Grove can score with Gallia

I'm still somewhat surprised at the amount of points that the Blue Devils gave up to the Dragons this past weekend. Not that Fairland won, but the number of points that they scored. Even at that, I would have to go with the Blue Devils over the Hornets. Hope that both teams have an injury free game.

Graduated with him. He's a good dude and 100% the right man for the job. I think the next step for GA is getting the upper level staff involved with really growing the youth program. Get the numbers in the 40s and 50s at the youth and Jr. High levels and keep them invested in the program. Invite the Jr. High kids to weight train with the HS. Set the standard from grade school, up.

I'll absolutely go to bat for him. Burg definitely got a good one in Woodward, that's for sure. But that's neither here nor there. GA needs to stick behind a coach and let him build a real culture of success there. Riffe was unfortunate to be stuck with a very small talent pool. Like 12 of the 30 or so football players in my graduating class transferred to RV or SG either before HS or during. Bartholomew is a very good coach but he saw the writing on the wall at GA and dipped as soon as a better job opened up for him. Eddy was a good coach and it's a shame he left, and the same is true with Penrod.

Facts are facts, and this is the best start to a coaching tenure that any GA coach has had that I can remember. Stick with him

Gallia Academy wins this one.
That staff has to learn that getting the ball to 8 is a must.

I am not backing anyone, just asked a question about previous coaches. And I actually forgot about the one between coach saunders and boko.

Boko left around the time I moved away as a kid, maybe a year or two after. To my knowledge, Eddy, then Bartholomew, then Riffe, then Penrod, and now Carter.

To be clear, I'm not going to rag on Riffe at all, because he had probably the two worst talent pools to work with in GA history. I don't care if you've got Chuck Noll or Bo Schembechler or Jimmy Johnson or Barry Switzer... Nobody was making those few teams into a contender for the league.
