Talent wise Steubenville is absolutely loaded with talent , one example a soph kicker that kicks it out of the EZ , not just into it. Unfortunately Steubenville is very undisciplined with countless penalties . The team that plays the more error free should win .

Agree with ya Bunker Hill, way too many penalties for BR this season. Stupid trash talking , personal fouls at critical times will be their demise. When they played LV, they only had 4 flags total. Played IV & it was raining down yellow flags. As for the game, Sheridan is probably the 2nd best team BR has faced this year behind Youngstown Ursuline. Sheridan has good size, speed, and skilled position players to hang with BR. Last week IV loaded the box to stop the run vs BR, so they went to quick screens & dump passes. BR uses a 7-8 man rotation with its O-line, 6 man on D-line. Stable of RB’s, each one processes something different , WR’s have nice size & speed. Good luck to both teams !

Tall task but hoping Sheridan can pull the “upset”

Listened to the game on the radio. Tied 7-7 in the middle of the 4th quarter and Sheridan went for a 4th and 1 near the red zone at the 21. Announcer said Sheridan QB got first down and was down when ball knocked out of hands and Steuby fell on it. Refs signaled Steuby ball. Then sent teams to sidelines and talked about 5 minutes. Then marked ball where Steuby fell on it and measured and claimed 4th down not made so Steuby ball. Sheridan coaches and radio guys not happy is an understatement.

Steuby scored on long run a couple plays later. Sheridan drove at end of game and hook and ladder lateral was fumbled to Steubenville with about 15 seconds left at about the 30 yard line.

Credit to Sheridan. They were good tonight. Played smart and tough. But so did the Big Red.

Sheridan QB was a stud. Toughest kid I have seen all year at the QB position. He will do well in collegiate baseball with that attitude. Heard he was going to Morehead State.

Sheridan QB clearly short of the first down on their last drive. Officials struggled on that play, and the entire night, as far as I am concerned.

Not our best effort tonight, but Sheridan had a lot to do with that.

Survive and advance. Let's go get Alter. Reno will have the troops ready. He is the best. There is a reason he has 425 career victories!!

Sheridan had multiple “False Starts” that hurt them at critical times of the game, which isn’t the norm for them. BR did enough to get the “W”, but it wasn’t easy at all. The officials for this game, well let’s just say they were “Consistent” for both teams - “Consistently Bad”, lol

Spoke to a person on the sideline about the delay. The chain crew moved the sticks before the officials were able to measure. Sheridan coach requested measurement, so the chains had to be reset to measure.

Heard that Sheridan only had 10 players on the field on that failed 4th down conversion. Is that true?

The QB was clearly short of the marker. Didn't understand the delay or the issue with Culver.

Based on what I was told by my buddy who was actually charting penalties, the ball was marked on the backside of the 20. The stick was on the 19. Officials looked at it and declared it short. Culver asked for a measurment since it was less than a yard and the measurment was granted. However, the chain crew had already moved the chains when the officials walked over to measure. That's when the chaos began. The officials went to each sideline to explain the situtation and the chains were set back to their original spot and then the measurement took place. Definitely an odd-looking situation.

Considering how things had gone against us all night, the longer the referees deliberated, the more nervous I became. I think I aged a bunch on that delay. And at my age, I can't afford that!!

Great year by Sheridan. Heard the Whiteman boy is going to be another stud at QB down the road. Best of luck to the Generals.

On to Kettering Alter at Westerville Central on Friday night.

1972: we beat them in the regular season.
1987: we beat them in the State Semi.
2006: we beat them on the State Final.
2008: they beat us in the State Final.
