It’s in the dead center of the area who produces the most teams in the finals for all divisions.

It's exactly even this year. 7 teams from the NE and 7 from the rest of the state. That's such a bullshit answer every year for why the games should be in Canton. I'll give you some mileage breakdowns!!

Let's go with the 7 teams from the NE drive time to Canton and to Columbus
To Canton
Akron Hoban-19 miles 24 minutes
Massillon- 7.6miles 19 minutes
Dalton- 21.1miles 22minutes
Perry- 79.8miles 1HR21minutes
Glenville- 63.6miles 1HR05minutes
Kirtland- 64.6miles 1HR08minutes
Lakewood- 62.8miles 1HR04minutes

To Columbus
Akron Hoban 123 miles 1HR57mins.
Massillon- 116 miles 1Hr58minutes
Dalton- 106miles 1HR44mins
Perry- 172miles 2HR40minutes
Glenville- 145miles 2HR15minutes
Kirtland- 157miles 2HR26minutes
Lakewood- 134miles 2HR07minutes

To Canton

Marion Local 200miles 3HR09minutes
Liberty Center 179miles 2HR43minutes
Kettering Alter 204miles 3HR06minutes
Versailles 211miles 3HR19minutes
Cols. Bishop Wat 124miles 1HR55minutes
Toledo Cent Cath 156 miles 2HR26minutes
Springfield 173miles 2HR40minutes

To Columbus
Marion Local 99.2miles 1HR43minutes
Liberty Center 141miles 2HR29minutes
Kettering Alter 77miles 1HR12minutes
Versailles 103miles 1HR40minutes
Cols. Bishop Watterson 6miles 12minutes
Toledo Cent Cath 139miles 2HR25minutes
Springfield 47miles 46minutes.

Big differences between the drives to Canton compared to the drive to Columbus. These games need to be in Columbus

F$&k Columbus.
Plus it’s all about $$$. And canton host the games for free. O S U was too expensive for the ohsaa.

What is the avg attendance per game? Surely there are venues around Columbus that can handle the seating. It doesn't need to be at OSU, does it?

What regional fan base consistently puts asses in seats?

Can you imagine the outcry if OU stadium un athens hosted the state championships! It would automatically become a racial deal.

Why not rotate a venue in each region? Athens, Canton, Columbus, Cincinnati can support a weekend of football. Why does one region hold church over others? It is total BS!!

Because someone in Canton is in "the good 'ol boys club" and is being taken care of by the OH$AA. Have you noticed the fairgrounds where you have to park? Pretty nice Grandstand and lot of nice buildings all around.

No, it doesn't have to be played at Ohio stadium. Plenty of venues that can hold the amount of fans that have been attending. Course, attendance is probably down because common fans won't travel to Canton where they would have traveled to Columbus.

Can't do it in Athens, you do not have enough locker rooms to do three games in one day, you do not have the hotel space to handle the need, and school is still in session, so you have a real parking issue on Thursday and Friday.

Why on earth should it be played anywhere else? I cant believe there are people on here complaining about the state championship game being played beside the hall of fame lol.
