Doesn’t say much for Meigs when you consider the last meeting between them and the former SVAC Oaks resulted in Meigs getting the brakes beat of of them. A true bareassing I tell ya.

Been awhile since anyone posted on this thread. Is Oak Hill to the TVC still a thing?

Personally, I would rather add Fort Frye than Oak Hill. Playing Oak Hill is like playing River Valley.........who cares? NY vs. FF would be lit.

No way VC votes for Fort Frye.

I agree. Wish Fort Frye got in. Would rather have Warren than Oak Hill also. Only good thing it does is bring the Ohio to an even number but I would rather play a good non conference opponent week 5 then Oak Hill.

Yes, I wish Warren was in the TVC too. NY vs. Warren was actually a nice rivalry. Even though it was before my time, when I researched NY football history on microfilm from old Messenger articles at Alden Library, I read many great articles that made the NY vs. Warren games seem like a fun rivalry.

NY/Belpre/Warren had a nice little trifecta rivalry on who would win the TVC each year back in the day.

Here is a Breakdown and comparison of TVC to SOC for those that think OH should join the TVC.

Wheelersburg is by themselves. Nothing to compare. You can say Athens but I am not sold on Athens being that dominant year in and year out in all sports.
Waverly = Athens
Minford = Meigs Not just because they both start with the letter M. LOL
Valley = Nelsonville York
Ports. West = Vinton County
Northwest = Wellston
Oak Hill = River Valley

Obviously this move revolves around football .
River Valley did not win a game in the TVC last year.

Definitely revolves around football, the Oaks already got what they wanted basketball wise

That is a pretty good comparison of the 2 leagues. Football wise Oak Hill kind of competed this last year against Valley and could of beaten NW

I haven't heard any recent updates. Is Oak Hill to the TVC happening or is it dead in the water?

I think it’s been pretty quiet the last few weeks with the holidays. Should hear more soon.

Oak Hill would fair decently in athletics overall. Here’s their records vs TVC-Ohio schools:

Alexander 8-1-1
Athens: 2-6
Meigs: 1-2
Nelsonville-York: 1-4
River Valley: 4-0
Vinton County: 15-5-2 (including McArthur)
Wellston: 24-43-1
Totals: 55-61-4

Oak Hill school officials attended the first meeting of what would become the SEOAL in 1925.

They were the only school who attended that did not join the conference.

Founding members were:

Athens
Gallipolis
Ironton
Jackson
Logan
Nelsonville
Portsmouth
Wellston

Oak hill has officially applied to the TVC for membership. If enough votes are cast in favor, Oak Hill will even the Ohio division as the 8th member.

Really hard to get excited about this. Just like when River Valley was added. Eh.

At least they have nice facilities, I guess.

Fort Frye or Warren would have been more exciting additions.

I expect Oak Hill gets the votes. I don't think NY has ever voted NO to anyone who applied to the TVC that I can recall.

I just hope that Oak Hill and River Valley aren't home games in the same season. What a crappy home schedule that will be if so.

Now dump Athens and get Fort Frye

I could see the TVC Ohio merge with TSL after adding Oak Hill.

TVC Ohio North/East:
Alexander
Athens
Nelsonville-York
Fort Frye
Marietta
Warren

TVC Ohio South/West:
Meigs
Point Pleasant
River Valley
Oak Hill
Vinton County
Wellston

Could see in olympic sports split into 4 pods of 3 to limit travel, but allow teams to still play others twice if desired and play 14 comference games.
