Daryl Thompson, RHP (0-0, -.--) @ Dan Giese, RHP (1-1, 1.23)

Scouting Report:
Reds: Cincinnati said it expects to recall Thompson from Triple-A Louisville to make his Major League debut at Yankee Stadium. In 14 starts this season at Louisville and Double-A Chattanooga, Thompson was 6-2 with a 2.22 ERA. He pitched last year in Single-A. He was part of an eight-player trade in 2006 between the Reds and Washington.

Yankees: Giese, a former starter in the Minors, was called up from Triple-A Scranton earlier this month to be a long reliever. Giese (1-1) has done well in that role, giving up one run in 7 1/3 innings over three appearances. Now, his role will be even more critical. General manager Brian Cashman said that before he explored the trade market, he wanted to look internally to replace the injured Chien-Ming Wang in the rotation. Giese has an immense opportunity.

Johnny Cueto, RHP (5-7, 5.19) @ Andy Pettitte, LHP (7-5, 4.29)

Amen to that, this was a great weekend for the Reds overall, I am glad to see some of those young arms we kept hold of and acquired starting to pay off.
