Left with lead, should've been pulled 2 batters earlier. Pitched really well, I'm guessing that you'll complain about the last play, which is typical.

You also rip Votto and Bruce constantly? How is that fun? Who cares if Votto is only great for half the season, it's 162 games for a reason, not 90. Dave Winfield got into the hall of fame and he was routinely awful the 2nd half of the year.

Bruce for Nimmo and 2 lower level prospects is bad. Nimmo has had a nice season in AAA this year, but hasn't been consistent overall. The Rangers could've packaged something better, but the Reds aren't answering the phone, ridiculous.

Cozart to the Mariners seems very likely.

Nice little switch for the Reds, IMO. Bruce is now going for 2B Dilson Herrera. Herrera is 22 and was a top 50 prospect going into last year. He struggled a little in the show last year, but is young and talented.

Also, LHP Max Wotell in the deal. He was the #14 prospect in the Mets organization. This is a nice deal.

What's next? Possible waiver trades of guys like Ohlendorf or Wood. Cozart is likely to be dealt in the offseason, as I can't imagine a guy like him clearing waivers.

The problem with the trade is that Phillips refuses to waive his no-trade clause (within his rights), so Peraza and Herrera are buried and won't see regular time at 2B until 2018.

He's played in all but 9 games, is a top 5 defensive SS, is #1 in all of baseball on routine plays, and has an amazingly affordable contract. Oh and he's hitting the ball harder than he ever has, with more line drives as well.

The Reds should try to extend him this offseason. He's still going to be relatively cheap and is still young enough. A 3 year extension would be perfect, although he could want more than that since that would put him at his age-35 season as a FA.

The Mariners will be out on him and the market for SS will be small. The Phillies, Padres, and Twins are the ones off the top of my head that I think could make a solid offer for him.

Homer Bailey endeared himself to the Reds with his comments today about the GM and his teammates. The worst part, IMO, is that he doesn't seem to realize that his contract is a decent part of their problem up until now.

Huge walk off shot tonight after Mike Matheny pulled one of the worst managerial moves this year (letting Oh bat with the bases loaded in the 8th + his inability to figure out the double switch)

Btw, since May 5th, Joey Votto has been the best hitter in baseball. Just thought I would toss this out for no real reason.

Agree that Price is terrible, but you can also only manage the cards your dealt. Jocketty is not a terrible GM, is he the best in the MLB? Not at all, but I wouldn't say he is terrible. Votto is tearing the cover off the ball lately, BA up to .293, was like .250 at the break I think. They are playing good baseball right now.
