I think they'll be better this year, but still not a playoff team again.

Great, great trade for the Reds. Completely stole 3 prospects for a dude coming off of his first good season that doesn't project well moving forward.

Luis Castillo has hit 100 mph and has had a great K/BB ratio in the minors. He was ranked 2nd in the Marlins farm system. Austin Brice was ranked 9th and when he switched to the pen last year, he was utterly dominant in the minors. Struggled in the show, but most guys do at first. Isiah Harris is super raw, but has super upside.

I agree they got more for him then the last two (star) pitchers they traded

I like Straily but he wouldn't give alot in a pennant run.

I think they sold high on him but it will take time to see how the trade worked out.

I wish Brandon Phillips would accept a lesser role.

Would love Hamilton to play 150 games so he could steal 90

Last thought it would b nice if Homer could pitch and actually win games. He got alot of hype because of 2 no hitters

Will they pan out ? Best record 14-9 for the Reds 27 years old ! Just like Homer he got all that money on 2 no hitters facts !

Why be the Redlegs trading for "hot" prospects instead of finding and developing them through scouting and their farm system?

I've heard that their top pick from last year's draft could be ready really soon, which would be a great help for them. I know I use the Cubs as an example a lot in rebuilding, for good reason, but nearly everything they had for this past season was picked up through trades. Bryant, Schwarber, Baez, Soler, and Almora are the only contributors for the Champions that came through the farm system, everyone else was acquired through trades and free agency. Sometimes you have to make trades to get players to build up.
