Game 63
Buffalo Bisons (Toronto) 9 Columbus Clippers (Cleveland) 1
Game one of a double header.
I took in both games.

Buffalo used two, three run bombs to spank Columbus in game one.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr.(4) and Danny Jansen hit the bombs.
Reese McGuire and Roemon Fields each had three hits. In all Buffalo had 15 hits, in the seven inning game.Gurriel totaled 4 RBI, Jansen had 3.

The Clippers, who have one of the worse offenses in all of triple A, managed just three hits. They struck out nine times in this one, which is sadly par for the course for them.

Game 64

Columbus Clippers (Indians) 29-31 @ Louisville Bats(Reds) 22-36

So far in 2 2/3 innings the Bats have had 5 bad, really bad throws, with two being counted as errors. Homer Bailey, who is making a rehab start for the Bats has to asking himself what level the Reds have sent him to. Little league players can throw the ball better.

Scoreless through two innings, the Clippers have started to show some form of life, with the bats. Eric Stamets singled to lead things off.Drew Maggi doubles (1) to make it 1-0.Brandon Barnes singles to make it 2-0.Mike Papi doubled (8) and all of a sudden, this was a 4-0 game.Eric Haase, who is on a two month slump tripled (3)
to make it 5-0 Columbus.

The Bats come back with a four spot in their part of the third.
Blake Trahan singled with two outs.
Nick Senzel doubles (9) to make it a 5-1 game.
Hernan Iribarren walked to put two on, with two outs.
Dilson Herrera homered(4) over the left field wall and this was a one run game.(5-4 Columbus)

Yu Chang doubles (17) to get the Clippers started in the fifth.
A wild pitch by Jackson Stephens advances Chang to third.
A could be good inning ended with the just one being scored, on a Nellie Rodriguez sac fly(6-4 Clippers)

Brandon Barnes walks to start the seventh inning for the Clippers.
A wild pitch by Evan Mitchell moves Barnes to 2nd base.
Eric Haase doubles (8) to make it a 7-4 Clippers lead. The ball was hit way up in the air and nobody could find it, making this a very easy double for Haase.

Final Score
Columbus 7-4

Game 71
Evansville Otters (Independent)17-15 @ Florence Freedom(Independent) 16-17

This is a big series for Florence because they trail the Otters by a game in the Western Division.

In the 2nd inning Xavier Turner doubled and then came around to score, on a two run bomb by Jordan Brower(4)

In the bottom of the fourth the Freedom was able to plate a single run, to take a 3-0 lead. Brower would single and then come around to score later in the inning on a single by Jacob Wark. Wark now has 20 RBI while playing in just 16 games for the Freedom.

Game 72
Hudson Valley Renegades (Tampa Bay)2-3 At Brooklyn Cyclones(Mets) 4-1

I listened to this one just to see how former Florence Freedom player,Jose Brizuela did. He went 1-5 with his 2nb bomb in two nights. He was robbed of a double by a great catch by Bryce Brown.

The games itself was a offensive slugfest, with Hudson Valley winning 8-7 in ten innings. Valley had 14 hits, while Brooklyn had 13.

Game 74.

I have made more of a attempt to listen to at least a few games from more leagues this season. With that in mind, I listened to another game from the Florida State League yesterday, before driving to Akron to watch the Rubber Ducks game.

Daytona Tortugas(38-30) Reds @ Florida Fire Frogs(30-38) Braves

Dayton was able to use 10 hits, with 4 of them being for extra bases to score 5 runs and post a win over the Fire Frogs, by the score of 5-4.

Randy Ventura led the winners with 3 hits and 1 RBI.
Bruce Yari had 2 hits.
Morgan Lofstrom only had 1 hit, but totaled 2 RBI to aid in the win.
Lead off hitter,Taylor Trammell had 1 hit and 1 RBI.
Daniel Sweet drove in 1 run and added a hit on the day.

For the Fire Frogs, they too totaled ten hits on the day.
Brett Cumberland blasted a solo home run(8)
Light hitting Ray-Patrick Didder, had 3 hits to raise his average up to(.204). He also drove in a run.
Jordan Rodgers a lighter hitter than Didder, had 2 hits(.199) and he too drove in a run.

Game 75

Took this one in, in person.

Harrisburg Senators(Washington)38-34 @ Akron Rubber Ducks (Cleveland)42-31

This was a good game for all of two innings. Then the Senators plated four runs in the third and this one was all but over. Harrisburg added four more in the seventh and to add insult to injury, they plated two in the eighth and ninth,to make the final score 12-2.

For Harrisburg,Dan Gamache had 3 hits and 3 RBI to lead the way.
Taylor Gushue had a hit and 4 RBI.
Drew Ward had 2 hits and 2 RBI.
Carter Kieboom totaled 3 hits.
Austin Davidson had 2 hits and 1 RBI.
Jake Noll had 2 hits and a RBI.
Adam Brett Walker had 1 RBI.
In all Harrisburg had 16 hits and add 7 more base runners by Akron pitchers walking them.

For Akron there was not much to write home about. In all the Rubber Ducks did have 7 hits, with 3 of them being for extra bases. When the pitching staff walks seven, a team really has little chance to post a win.
Connor Marabell had 2 hits a drove in a run.
Mark Mathias had 2 hits and drove in a run.

Game 76
I watched this one online, from the Barnstormers youtube feed

Long Island Ducks 27-25(Independent) @ Lancaster Barnstormers 33-18(Independent)

This game belong to the pitchers as the 1-0 final would tell.
Lancaster used five pitchers to post the shutout, with Kevin Munson (3-1, 1.62 ERA) getting the win in relief. He threw one inning of hitless ball. Overall the Barnstormers
pitchers gave up three hits. Starter Nate Reed gave up all three in his five innings of work. His big problem was five base on balls.

The Ducks staff gave up just three hits too.Former major league player,Jair Jurrjens left the game because of as now a unknown injury. He threw 1 2/3 of an inning, giving up zero hits.

Lancaster got their only RBI from Tyler Bortnick(Mentor,Ohio), who had one of the three hits for his team.

Game 77
Williamsport Crosscutters (Phillies)6-3 @ Mahoning Valley Scrappers(Indians) 7-2

Its very cool for me as a Indians fan to see the young guys doing so well, even if it is early in the short season.
The Scrappers had ten hits, with just two being for extra bases.
Leading the offense in this one was,Jason Rodriguez(.214) with two hits, including his first bomb of the season. His bomb was a solo shot and it also brought in his only RBI of the game.Jose Fermin also had two hits and he drove in two. Former Ohio State Buckeye,Tre Gantt had a hit, a RBI and scored two runs.

The Crosscutters had nine hits in this one.
Jonathan Guzman had three hits, including his first dinger of the season and he drove in a run.Lenin Rodriguez had two hits and a RBI.

Louisville Bats(Reds) 29-43 @ Columbus Clippers(Indians) 37-38

Te Bats won the first game of the series by the count of 11-2. Columbus was seeking revenge in this one and after another horrible start, they were able to overcome a 3-0 lead and post a 5-3 win.

Leading the Bats with the bat was,Steve Selsky with 2 hits and 2RBI.
Dilson Herrera drove in a run and had one hit.
Overall the Bats had seven hits, with three doubles.

For Columbus there two all stars led the way.
Brandon Barnes and Francisco Mejia each had two hits, with Barnes driving in a pair.
