Game 79 Louisville Bats(Reds)29-44 @ Columbus Clippers(Indians)38-38

What a offensive power show these two put on tonight.

Game 81
Mahoning Valley(Indians) @ West Virginia Black Bears(Pittsburgh)

I made the drive to Granville, West Virginia to watch this one.
I know this is the same ball park that the University of West Virginia plays in, but it is know better than the ball park in Florence or in Washington Pa.

As for the game it was really over early, as the Black Bears jumped out yo a 6-0 lead. after five innings. The Scrappers did scored two late runs in the 8th inning to make the final 6-2.

For the winners,
Melvin Jimenez led the way with 3 hits and 2 RBI.
Jhoan Herrera had 2 hits and 2 RBI.
Zach Susi had the other RBI.

For MV, the lone bright spot was Richard Palacios. 3-4 2BI.

Game 82
Mahoning Valley(Indians)10-3 @ West Virginia Black Bears(Pittsburgh) 6-8

Of course MV wins tonight, a night after I drove to WV to take their game in.
This was a weird one, with three of the Black Bears runs scoring on wild pitches and MV pitchers walked eight batters. Lucky for the pitching staff the offense woke up,with fourteen hits, including four extra base hits. They did have ten strikeouts, so all was not all sunshine and roses.

For the winners Tre Gantt (Ohio State) had two hits ans scored two runs. He was off last night, which was not good for me because I wanted to see him play in person.Tyler Freeman(.455) continues to play out of his mind, as he had three more hits and drove in a run. He has a cannon for an arm and plays a mean defense, at this level.Richard Palacios(.400) drove in two runs and totaled two hits. Also with two RBI was Clark Scolamiero.

For the home team,Robbie Glendinning had a hit and the teams only RBI.

Indianapolis Indians (Pittsburgh)43-36 @ Columbus Clippers(Cleveland)41-39

This was my seventh minor league/independent game this season and it was the first time, the team I was rooting for won.

Columbus jumped out with two in the first, when Yu Chang and Yandy Diaz plated runs, with RBI doubles.

Clippers starter Mitch Talbot would give up only only one run, in six innings and he left with the 2-1 lead. His only run was a solo home run to Eric Wood(70 As usual the Clippers bullpen let the lead slip away. Cole Sulser, walked the first batter he faced and then the 2nd batter,Ryan Lavarnway(5) hit a two run bomb, to make it a 3-2 game after 6 1/2 innings.

Columbus tied it in the seventh on a bases loaded walk to Brandon Barnes. The Clippers had bases juiced and got only one run. 3-3 after seven.

Columbus scored five times in the eighth to make it a 8-3 game and that is how the game ended. Adam Rosales homers (11), a two run shot, to make it 5-3.Eric Haase had a two run single to make it a 7-3 game. The final run came on a Drew Maggi single.

WP-Robert Zarate (W, 3-1)3.71 ERA

This time around it was the Mud Hens who jumped out to the early lead.
Toledo jumped out to a 3-1 lead after one. The Mudhens led 4-3 after two innings as it looked like both offenses were going to rule the night.

The Clippers would score the next three runs and then hold on for the 6-5 win. Toledo scored their last run in the ninth, but it was not enough.

Game 90
(Prospect League-College Wood Bat Summer League)
I put this here because I wanted it with the list of games I have gone to and/or watched.

Chillicothe(20-13) 9 Butler 0 (10-23)
Yesterday I took in my first ever Prospect league contest, in Chillicothe,Ohio.
Butler Blue Sox @ Chillicothe Paints. Tickets were 7 bucks, Parking was free. I recommend every fan reading this find a the closes team to them and take in a game.
This game was beautiful if you were a Paints fan and as ugly as an EX if you were a Blue Sox fan. The Paints scored a single run in the bottom of the first and then never looked back, as they would score eight more runs before they were finished.
Michael Jacob (Toledo University) would throw eight strong innings, allowing just five hits, while striking out ten. The Toledo Rocket Junior threw a smart game as he kept the Blue Sox batter off balanced all game long. Erik Demchuk (Paradise Valley CC) threw two shutout innings out of the pen. He allowed a hit, while striking out one.
Dallas Hall (Miami, Ohio University) blasted his fifth bomb of the season, he totaled three hits and drove in a run.Andrew Czech ( Walsh Univ) had 2 RBI and scored a run.Cole Heavilin (Northern Kentucky) and Drew DeVine (Western Michigan) each had three hits.Trace Hatfield (Toledo University)had two hits, In all the Paints had 14 hits.

For Butler it was another long night of baseball.
The Blue Sox committed three error, total just six hits and were shutout.
Wyatt Daugherty (Slippery Rock University) threw two shutout innings, lowering his ERA 1.90. and he struck out four. Fellow bullpen mate,Sean Kealey (Allegheny College) threw 1.1 shutout Innings, while striking three.

Game 91
Mahoning Valley Scrappers(Indians 14-6) 6 Williamsport Crosscutters 5(Phillies 8-12)

Yesterday I made my first trip to Niles, Ohio to watch Mahoning Valley to watch the Scrappers battle a very determined Crosscutters squad. The game looked good for the home team after the first inning, which they scored two runs.
The Crosscutters would tie things up with single runs in the third and fourth innings.
The Crosscutters plated three runs in the sixth and looked to have things rapped up, until the Scrappers were down to their last strike, then the sea opened up, the waters parted and three runs scored. The game winner cam on a rope laced to the center field by Hosea Nelson.

Hosea Nelson ( Clarendon) was the (HERO) 3 hits and 3 RBI.
Richard Palacios had 2 hits and a RBI.
Mitch Reeves had 1 RBI.
Tre Gantt(Ohio State) had two hits and scored a run, as he seems to slowly to becoming into his own.

Henry Pujols had 2 errors, which should have been three and he went hitless to drop his average to .163. In watching him play in this one, I can see the ship being righted and very quickly.

For the Crosscutters,Jesse Wilkening had three hits and drove in a run.
Ben Aklinski had a hit and drove in a run.

Ben Pelletier had two hits.

Game 94
Williamsport Crosscutters(Phillies 9-13) @ Mahoning Valley Scrappers(Indians 15-7)

I listened to this one and it was one of those games that had one team in complete control, then the other team with one swing of the bat took control and never looked back.

The Crosscutters lead 3-1 after 5 1/2 innings and it appeared that they had everything in control, but as it is in baseball the game is never over until the final out has been recorded.
MV would score four in the sixth and one in eighth, then held on to post the 6-3 win.Hosea Nelson had the biggest blow of the game, with a three run bomb.

Just like in the big league, the Indians can not seem to beat the Yankees, even at this level.

MV had a runner on in the ninth but nothing came from it and for the first time this season, the Scrappers have dropped two games in a row.
