Week 7: OSU vs. Wisconsin
Re: Week 7: OSU vs. Wisconsin
Without emotion and desire the Bucks are in for a long night. They need to wake up. They march down the field but go no where when they get close to the goal. Not having a tough inside runner really hurts. Also the line did not block well close to the goal line.

Re: Week 7: OSU vs. Wisconsin
Keys to second half:
Score touchdowns on offense, preferrably with some quickness.
Defense- stop the run and play fundamental football.
HOWEVER; the biggest thing should be to WAKE UP! They may have been showing some spark near the end, but good lord it's going to take a lot more heart than what they've shown so far.
I think they can do it, but it's gotta start from the kickoff next half. Wisconsin loves to be able to churn the clock.

It's not wisconsin beating buckeyes...it's schwartzel (one of the officials) from Athens...hahaha

Defense sucks. Looks like we'll be settling for another pathetic trip to the pathetic Rose Bowl! Way to go you, pansies!

Re: Week 7: OSU vs. Wisconsin
Wisconsin played more physical on offense and defense tonight than any team the Bucks have faced... or will face (other than maybe Iowa) the rest of the season. Wisconsin would have beaten just about anybody in the country if they played like that.
That said, Ohio State should have beaten them. Pryor had two drives where he looked like gold. Why didn't he play consistantly? The offensive gave him a lot of help those drives. The rest of the 4th? Not so much. Don't even want to talk about the first half, good god.
Road to Pasadena will be interesting.

Re: Week 7: OSU vs. Wisconsin
Last week Alabama played flat against South Carolina and this week OSU played most of the game uninspired. Tressel got excited after the 2 point conversion. Games are played for 4 quarters for a reason. Time the coaches and players get that in their head. The game starts at the kickoff.

#5 Chekwa lost this game for Ohio State. He gave up big plays on busted pass coverage on numerous 3rd and long plays. Just when the offense got clicking and it looked like a great comeback was in order, Chekwa would get burnt again.
And to hear Brent Muskberger say that Chekwa would be "playing on Sundays"........really? Does he ever watch film? Cause Wisconsin does.....that is why they kept throwing all over him.
It also doesnt help when you start playing football after spotting the other team 21 points.

Re: Week 7: OSU vs. Wisconsin
The real problem is Ohio State had the bar set too high. Coming off the Rose Bowl win, anything short of a National Championship was going to be viewed as a failure. Truth is the Buckeyes are a top ten team but not top five.

Re: Week 7: OSU vs. Wisconsin
I thought OSU was good enough to win it all. However, I didn't compensate for the lack of teams they'd play that would smack you in the mouth like Wisconsin (okay, few teams can do it like that; I was thoroughly impressed with them) and tonight it came back to haunt.
General- don't chalk this up to the vest. If OSU came to play, the threads in the state of Ohio would be much happier. Take a look at Bucknuts and you'll see what I mean lol.

I honestly felt going into today's game, the bucks were going to go up to Madison and lay an egg. Well, they did, god darn it! Ugh!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Week 7: OSU vs. Wisconsin
OSU is now something like 16-14 in night games.
Just flat out got hit in the mouth and were made
to like it vs. Wisconsin. Badgers probablly ran up
in the stands and slapped OSU mom's, to boot.
This was big time football, with the big boys,
not Eastern Michigan. You have to score
touchdowns, not field goals or go for field
goals off of turnovers.
OSU got turf toe again on the national
stage. They'll get ripped for being national
pretenders and still haven't beaten any
team of real consequence.
Pryor had major Heisman points to score
tonight with national media. but fllunked
the test, as did the Buckeye defense.
Chekwa got burnt so much his new
Delta Chi name should be 'SPF 5' cause
he got smoked more than once.
Colin Cowherd, a clearly established
Buckeye basher on ESPN Radio, will have
a field day next week at OSU's expense.

MD No wonder you guys LOVE the BULLSHIIT that is the BCS system ----just whip the hapless big ten , cruise to the natl title game every year. Let the best teams in the SEC , Pac Ten and Big 12 try to go undefeated just to make it to the game. MD
Didn't Utah beat Bama in a bowl in 2009?
I could see how you would think this, after WVU squeaked out a night game at Marshall.Raiderball wrote:Camp Randell at night, OSU with #1 on their back... I'm going with Wisconsin in the upset. Special teams play could be the difference in this one.

Ok hows many buckeye fans are ready to jump off a ledge. We had a bad game oh well quit crying they will be ok look at last year
Re: Week 7: OSU vs. Wisconsin
There are always going to be those who like to spite and degrade Ohio State Football. Every time a team like Alabama losses a big game (ex: South Carolina) the national audience decrees that it is just SEC football. No big deal. They're still good. Every time Ohio State losses a big game, they are terrible, Tressel doesn't know how to coach, their players are not good enough, they need to fire their coordinators. etc. etc. For those who feel like this, either: 1. An Ohio State fan ran over your dog. 2. You are obviously jealous of their success over the years. or 3. You like to be one of those different people who roots against the team that everybody around you roots for.
It is what it is. They lost to a solid team, on the road, in a hostile environment. It's time to move on, finish the season strong, and play to the best of their ability.

Re: Week 7: OSU vs. Wisconsin
Congrats Wisconsin, you came out from the opening kick and played like your butts were on fire.
The Buckeyes made a game of it in the 3rd, but couldn't keep it up into the fourth.
The team that played better football won tonight.
On to Purdue.

Re: Week 7: OSU vs. Wisconsin
Ohio State got flat out beat. Special team big mistake and the defense got the ball ran straight down their throat. I'm not going to make excuses for Ohio State to be in the national championship game, like all the SEC fans did for bama. The playoffs in college football starts in week one and if you get beat there is another undefeated team waiting to take your place. I will continue to root for my Buckeyes no matter what, I have friends from WV, I work with and as soon as the game ended my phone started.
