In their second match of the weekend against visiting McKendree, the Buckeyes got out to an early 1-0 lead, before McKendree stormed back to take a 3-2 (23-25; 25-19; 25-22; 22-25; 15-10) victory on the day. That loss today for OSU resulted in a weekend split with the Bearcats. Jake Hanes had another big match for the Buckeyes, as he went for 25 points. Luke Lentin was the leading passer on the day with 26 assists.

Leading McKendree was Zach Schnittker with 18 points.

Next up is a huge weekend for Ohio State, as they hit the road to Los Angeles where they will take on UCLA on Friday and USC on Saturday.

The Buckeyes took two losses over the weekend in Los Angeles. They fell to #5 UCLA on Friday, by a score of 3-0. And then on Saturday they fell to #11 USC 3-2.

Next up, Ohio State will host Lees-McRae on Friday.

OSU picked up their first win in exactly two weeks, as they defeated Lees-McRae 3-0 (25-16; 25-14; 25-16) on Friday night in Columbus. Leading the way for the Buckeyes was Shawn Hughes with 12.5 points, while Sanil Thomas tallied 25 assists.

Leading Lees-McRae was Hector Serviat with just 5.5 points.

Next up, Ohio State will travel to State College to take on Penn State on Tuesday.

Struggles from the service line and single-digit kills in each set hindered Ohio State’s efforts in coming out on the right end of 35 tied scores during a 25-20, 25-18, 25-23 road defeat at Penn State (9-12) to even the season series at 1-1. The Buckeyes (7-15) return to conference play this weekend (March 22-23) when hosting Lindenwood and Quincy for a pair of pivotal MIVA clashes.

Over the weekend, the Buckeyes earned a win and suffered a loss in conference play. They fell to Lindenwood (3-1) on Friday, then earned a victory on Saturday against Quincy (3-0).

They have two matches in Illinois this weekend, as they play Loyola-Chicago on Friday and Lewis on Saturday.

Even more disappointment set in for the men's volleyball team over the weekend, as they took two more on the chin. They hit the road for both conference matches, losing to Loyola 3-0 on Friday, then falling to Lewis 3-0 on Saturday.

Ohio State will wrap up their regular season next weekend, as they host Purdue Fort Wayne on Thursday, then host Ball State on Saturday.

The Buckeyes (9-18; 4-9) picked up an upset win over #13 Purdue Fort Wayne (16-10; 8-5) on Thursday, 3-2 (18-25; 25-16; 21-25; 32-30; 15-9). Jake Hanes led the way for OSU with a monster 35 points, while Sanil Thomas added 59 assists.

Leading the way for the Mastodons was Alex Dickmann with 16 points.

Ohio State will wrap up their regular season on Saturday when they host Ball State.

OSU (10-18; 5-9) closed out their regular season on Saturday with another big victory 3-2 (19-25; 25-17; 15-25; 25-23; 15-9), this time over Ball State. This was just the second time this entire season that they strung two consecutive victories together, and the first time since their first two matches of the season. Jake Hanes led the Buckeyes again, this time with 22.5 points. Sanil Thomas tallied 46 assists.

Leading the way for Ball State was Blake Reardon with 16.5 points.

Next up will be the Quarterfinals of the MIVA Tournament, where the Buckeyes will play at Loyola-Chicago next Saturday.

The Buckeyes ended their season on Saturday in the quarterfinals of the MIVA tournament, falling to Loyola Chicago 3-1 (25-15; 20-25; 25-14; 25-22). Jake Hanes led the way with a great 23.5 points. Sanil Thomas also tallied tallied 36 assists.

Colin Mahan led the way for Loyola Chicago with 17.5 points.

Ohio State ended one of their worst seasons in quite some time.
