The only reason he has good numbers is because he tears up defenses such as, Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Purdue, Minnesota, etc. He plays a couple of decent defenses in Illinois and Wisconsin, and he forgets how to play.
Don't get me wrong Pryor is an incredible athlete, but to say he's anything else than that right now is quite laughable.
Cam Newton was 7-14 against Clemson and was 10-16 against LSU for 86 yards.
Would you like to compare LSU's defense to anyone in the Big 10. To put down anyone stats against that defense is ridiculous. Especially when they came out with the win.
The difference? OSU doesn't run Pryor much and he was limping terribly against Wisconsin.

This young man is something else...as mechanically sound as he is throwing it and with the cannon he has slinging it around, when he runs it he is downright scary...and I feel he is the second best runner of the football in the country...The amazing thing to me is he is only the 2nd best runner on his team :122246 ....Ontarrio Mccaleb is outstanding...Pretty skinny...but so explosive...What a threat...but the best RB that I have seen this year{albeit he is young and has been injured] in the college game is freshman Michael Dyer of Auburn. What a scary talent.

What do these accusations have to do with the young man's ability?... :122245 ...I would consider you a loon...as you called it....And not real knowledgeable. You probably deny those opinions, dont you orestes?....Does that make you right or me?...You might be scary...You could be or maybe you are not..It is really hard to say.

He is very talented. He has also demonstrated himself to be a lowlife POS. Oh well, he will do well in life and be praised throughout. The General wrote:What do these accusations have to do with the young man's ability?... :122245 ...I would consider you a loon...as you called it....And not real knowledgeable. To the other point, it is doubtful that Auburn has the two best runners in the country and the country's best running back. That would be the best set of rushers ever assembled on a single team. I'm no expert, but I have my doubts that Auburn has accomplished that feat. The odds are in my favor. You seem to be a fan of hyperbole and overstatements.
Re: Who Wins the Heisman?
and your QB says he supports Mike Vick because everyone kills and steals. Then turns around and says everyone knew they should have beat Wisconsin despite getting beat by two scores. Real character.
Re: Who Wins the Heisman?
You don't notice a distinction between saying stupid things and somehow being so talented and yet still being removed from Florida's team? You know, the Florida team with Rainey playing right now and 30+ other recent arrests. Now, couple that with these recent allegations of impropriety and the distinction is very clear.peake wrote:and your QB says he supports Mike Vick because everyone kills and steals. One, many African Americans sided with Vick, and this was especially true in the South where dog-fighting is commonplace. Two, the "everybody kills people" line was obviously an extremely poorly worded way of saying everyone "sins." Three, the Wisconsin comments may be true, but were still moronic when spoken publicly. It looks like sour grapes. Though, such words do not make one criminal or entirely unethical. Mike Hart made similar comments after losses during his college career.
Now, for the Newton-situation time-line:
Cam dismissed from Florida because of criminal acts.
Cam wants to go to Miss. State.
Dad's church ready to be shut down due to building code violations.
Cam says dad will make decision on where he goes to school.
Dad chooses Auburn.
Dad's church is renovated and stays "open" for business.
Dad hires an attorney in the wake of the allegations.

Hopefully the church did get renovated...Great way to spend the money...Have you seen Cameron Newton or Michael Dyer run the football Orestes?...sort of fun to watch.. :122245
Re: Who Wins the Heisman?
Yeah. Great way to spend the money. That must be some church. It's ran by a guy who uses extortion and the illegal funds to make the renovations. The ends justify the means I suppose, but they don't in the book that father uses to proselytize. The General wrote:Hopefully the church did get renovated...Great way to spend the money...Have you seen Cameron Newton or Michael Dyer run the football Orestes?...sort of fun to watch.. :122245
Grew up in it. Moved away from it, but studied it for fun in undergraduate courses. Nope, can't seem to find anything about the blessings of extortion and underhanded dealing.

It seems to me that the guy on here that bashes Buckeyes fans for wearing scarlet glasses and being uneducated,
is wearing some glasses of his own, with a blue and orange tint.
Also, doing a mighty fine job of proving his educational worth.

Geez....Are you not presumed innocent in this country of ours until proven guilty,my dignified Buckeye Homer friends?....And even if it all plays out and is true...What does that have to do with Cam Newton being the most outstanding QB and player in the country? :122245 ...I guess it is slightly different than Troy Smith's 500 dollar handshakes,Hawk living in a 3400 hundred a month condo,or Maurice driving around Columbus in a new SUV weekly....among other things.

The presumption of innocence exists in criminal law. This isn't criminal law.The General wrote:Geez....Are you not presumed innocent in this country of ours until proven guilty,my dignified Buckeye Homer friends?....And even if it all plays out and is true...What does that have to do with Cam Newton being the most outstanding QB and player in the country? :122245 ...I guess it is slightly different than Troy Smith's 500 dollar handshakes,Hawk living in a 3400 hundred a month condo,or Maurice driving around Columbus in a new SUV weekly....among other things.

As for OSU:
Troy Smith took $500. OSU turned it in.
AJ Hawk comes from an upper-middle class family, and so did his roommate Bobby Carpenter. Remember, his dad played in the NFL for years. Plus, I don't remember there being a specific number reported about the condo's price. Source please.
It was discovered that Maurice Clarett was taking money from a person from his high school area. A person who would have gifted him at any school we would have chosen to attend. His year-long suspension was primarily due to his lying to investigators.
A few article and person quotes:
"Word is that Clarett recently tried to patch things up with Ohio State. He supposedly called Geiger to say he was willing to apologize and admit he fabricated most of what he told ESPN The Magazine. In turn he wanted OSU officials to issue public statements of support in order to help his reputation for April’s NFL Draft.
Ohio State supposedly declined the offer.
Geiger did not deny that such a scenario took place.
“There is always communication,†Geiger said when asked if he received a call from Clarett to patch up the relationship. “Beyond that, I cannot elaborate.â€

"This approach lowers the risk of things going wrong. I think Ohio State is ahead of the curve." -Former NCAA President Myles Brand
"It is very interesting approach and Ohio State may become a model in that regard," said Myles Brand, president of the NCAA. "It's far reaching and it's thoughtful." - Myles Brand
"NCAA president Myles Brand said Friday that Ohio State took 'strong and transparent measures' to deal with former Buckeyes running back Maurice Clarett, who claimed to have received improper benefits while playing for the school."

The Columbus Dispatch reported Thursday that Dellimuti, a Warren caterer, was Clarett's benefactor - the man who wrote a $500 check to the tailback and paid at least $1,000 worth of his mobile phone bills. Dellimuti long has looked after Warren Harding players, Harding coach Thom McDaniels said, and was unaware that his support of Clarett wasn't allowed by NCAA rules. <---- Looks like a benefactor regardless of Clarett's college choice.
"He's challenging Jimmy Tressel's reputation and integrity with his own," McDaniels said of Clarett. "In that matchup, Jim Tressel wins 100 out of 100 times. Whoever suggested or advised [Clarett] to do this, their logic is pretty bad. - Thom McDaniels (Clarett's high school coach, a legend,Denver Broncos' Josh Mcdaniels' father)
Re: Who Wins the Heisman?
cam newton getting more negative publicity. they say he was getting ready for expulsion from florida for cheating in the classroom. this could cost him a chance at the heisman trophy.
