In surprising fashion, the #3 Buckeyes defeated #1 BYU in straight sets, 3-0. This is the 2nd title in the last 5 years for Ohio State.

In a dramatic finish, after losing a 2 goal lead with 11 seconds left, USC went on the offensive in the women's water polo national championship. With less than a handful of seconds remaining, Stephania Haralabidis of USC scored the game clinching goal to knock off defending champ, Stanford, 8-7.

This is the 5th NCAA Women's Water Polo Championship for USC. And with that, USC has clinched 2 of the first 3 NCAA Championships of the spring.

The Virginia Cavaliers dropped only 3 total points in the entire NCAA Tournament before reaching the final against #11 Oklahoma, where they won the National Championship 4-1. On the way, they defeated Monmouth 4-0, Penn State 4-1, #9 Florida 4-0, #13 Cal 4-0. This marks their second consecutive national championship, which was a rematch of last year's title in which Virginia won as well. This is their program's third national title.

For the first time in 4 years (Yes that's right 4 years!) the Buckeyes were not crowned NCAA Rowing Champions. It was yet another Pac-12 team taking home a championship trophy for the spring, this time being California, as they edged OSU out of a 4-peat. They won 129-126, just scraping by.

In a surprising finish, the two-time defending national champs and #1 ranked all season Maryland team fell in the hands of the North Carolina Tar Heels in the Women's Lacrosse National Championship game, 13-7. This is just the second title in UNC history.

Just like the women's national championship, the men's NCAA Lacrosse National Championship saw North Carolina taking on the #1 seed Maryland. And also just like the women's, North Carolina snatched victory out of the hands of the Terrapins. This time was in OT where UNC won 14-13, and captured their first title since 1991. This gives them their 5th title (1981,1982,1986,1991).

The Pac 12 clinched another spring championship this week, when Oregon defeated top-seeded Texas in a playoff hole on a title clinching putt. This was a home match for Oregon as it was hosted in Eugene, and this was the school's first golf national title.

Unbelievably, this is the Pac 12's 6th National Title so far this spring.

What a Women's College World Series of Softball, and it ended last night. It ended with Oklahoma storming the diamond and taking home the national championship trophy.

In a best-of-3 series, Oklahoma took game 1 in a low scoring affair, 3-2. Game 2 was an absolute shootout with Auburn taking home the victory 11-7. Game 3 meant the entire national championship came down to one game and Oklahoma took home the title in a pitcher's duel, 2-1.

This is Oklahoma's 2nd title in the last 4 years, and their ace closed out the season on a 27-game winning streak.

In dramatic fashion, the Florida Gatos men's track and field team claimed their third national title in school history last night, dethroning Oregon's bid for a 3-peat. Florida scored 62 points, followed by Arkansas with 56 and Texas A&M in third with 50.

The women's title will be decided today.

What a finish it was yesterday in the Women's NCAA Track & Field Championships! With 4 events remaining to score, it was a 2 team meet. Arkansas had a good lead on Oregon, then unexpectedly, in the 200 meter dash, Oregon placed 1st and 2nd scoring 18 points and opening up a huge lead on Arkansas. Then came the final event in the Heptathlon, where Oregon couldn't find enough point to score, and Arkansas got two to score in that event (4th and 6th). Following that event though, Oregon still found themselves with the lead but knowing it would be hard to pull it out.

Although Oregon scored one athlete in the 5k, a 5th place finish, Arkansas had the favorite in the event and she didn't disappoint Razorback nation, as she finished in 1st place. Those 10 points gave Arkansas the lead, and the remainder of the meet was just a formality. They only race that remained was the 4x400m relay, where Oregon didn't have a team and Arkansas finished 2nd overall.

Arkansas won the meet with 72 points, Oregon was 2nd with 62 and Georgia was third with 41. The title was Arkansas' first outdoor national championship in program history.

The NCAA Baseball Championships are now down to the final 4. There are officially no ranked teams left in the running. The teams remaining are Arizona, Coastal Carolina, Oklahoma State, TCU. Final 4 games are today, second final 4 games are tomorrow if nobody is eliminated. Then a best of 3 CWS series will be played between the last two teams.

Thought Arizona was going to take it after game one. I like the smaller school winning.
