Interesting statistical look at which states produced the most signees for the 2016 FBS signing class. Florida and Texas lead the way, Ohio a distant fifth place. Demographics equals destiny and seems to support Urban Meyer's out of state recruiting.
Florida – 336
Texas – 332
California – 224
Georgia – 213
Ohio – 121

Only thing that surprises me is Georgia being that far ahead of Ohio in players, that state is way below Ohio in population.

I believe the 2015 population estimates for Ohio was 11.6 million while Georgia was 10.2 million. Median age in Ohio was 37 with Georgia being 34, which might suggest Georgia has more families with children in school, Also, while Ohio is indeed a hotbed for high school football, it has been elevated to a religion in Georgia. As the Rust Belt and Appalachia continue to decline and age, over time you will see fewer signees from Ohio.cbolt wrote:Only thing that surprises me is Georgia being that far ahead of Ohio in players, that state is way below Ohio in population.
