The Bobcats open up their season at the Southeast Open in Roanoke, Virginia this coming Sunday. After a sub-par wrestling season and an 8th place finish in the MAC last year, the Bobcats will look to get back to their winning ways on the wrestling mats. In a preseason coaches poll, OU was projected to finish 4th in the MAC.

Taking on their second conference opponent of the season, the Bobcats were no match for the 4th ranked Missouri Tigers, losing on the road 36-6. The Bobcats are still nowhere near full strength, as they are still missing several of their key starting lineup wrestlers. Ohio won two matches today though, Alec Hagan (141lbs) and Zack Parker (285lbs) took home victories.

The next match for OU is a non-conference battle as they will travel to Chattanooga next Monday.

Another dual match resulted in another loss for the Bobcats wrestlers on Monday, although this one was a bit closer. OU traveled to Chattanooga on Monday night and fell short by a score of 22-19. Ohio did win matches at 133, 149, 157, 174 and 285 though. For now, the Bobcats have no more dual matches until after the new year. But, they will head to the 55th annual Midlands Classic in Evanston, Ill set for December 29 and 30.

It was a bit of a rough weekend tournament for the Bobcats at the 55th Annual Midlands Championships. Zack Parker (285) won two individual matches making it all the way to the third round before falling to 2nd seed Sam Stoll of Iowa in a 5-3 decision. Cullen Cummings earned a bye through the first two rounds, and eventually fell in the 3rd round to the 2nd overall seed, Joshua Shields of Arizona State by an 18-2 decision.

OU will be back in action on Friday in Athens as they will host Eastern Michigan in a MAC duel.

The Bobcats picked up a key non-conference win on Saturday, as they traveled to VMI and came home with a dominating 37-6 victory. It's been a tough season so far for OU and it's good to see that they are still hanging in there and getting back from injuries. Ohio won 9 of the 10 matches on the day, winning all but one at the 141 pound weight class.

OU will now get back into their MAC schedule on Friday when they host Kent State.
