No reason to think they can beat Penn State after the last beat down. They just don't match up well at all.

Depending on how you like at it, this is now the matchup that all Ohio State fans either dread or crave. Penn State defeated Northwestern 65-57 in the 2nd round of the Big Ten tournament on Thursday. Which means, Penn State and OSU will face off for the third time this season in Friday's quarterfinal at 6:30pm.

The previous two matchups did not go the way of the Buckeyes. In the first matchup in Columbus, back on January 25th, Penn State nailed a buzzer beater to claim a 82-79 victory. Then, the second game, which was at Penn State, was all Nittany Lions as they drubbed the Buckeyes 79-56.

Lets hope this one goes better for the Scarlet and Gray.

Wow! Now that we've lost to Penn State 3 times, we'll just be sitting at home for the rest of the Big Ten Tournament. Will have to wait until next Sunday to see their tournament fate.

It's all about the matchup. They don't do well against the big guards of Penn St. At least they shouldn't see them in the Dance

If PSU does make it they will match them up in the first or second round would be their luck  Thank goodness Purdue beat them today!

The Buckeyes have received their bid. They will be playing in the West (Los Angeles) bracket. They received the #5 seed, and will play their first round game against the #12 seed, South Dakota State on Thursday.

Every year it seems a 5 seed goes down the first day. I worry a little about this matchup

Right about that...I think only 1 year of recent all #5's made it through 1st round. I'm looking hard at Clemson v New Mexico St. for a possible upset.

In the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the 5th seeded Buckeyes finally were able to outlast 12th seeded South Dakota State, 81-73. Three Buckeyes surpassed the 20 point mark in the game: Keita Bates Diop (24 points-12 rebounds); Kam Williams 22 points and CJ Jackson 20 points. South Dakota State's stud player, Mike Daum, led all scorers with 27 points.

With that win, the Buckeyes will advance to second round play on Saturday where they will face-off against 4th seeded Gonzaga. The Zags earned a 68-64 first round win over UNC Greensboro earlier today.

The Buckeyes and Gonzaga have already played one time this year in Portland in the PK80 Invite, where Gonzaga won 86-59.

I somehow feel the Buckeyes have been saving up for this. It's a game they CAN win. I think they'll make the Zags sweat this one out.

A surprisingly successful season for the Buckeyes has officially come to an end, as they fall to the #4 seed Gonzaga, 90-84. In a game where the Buckeyes trailed 15-0 about five and a half minutes into the game, and trailed by 11 at half, they came back in the second half and made a great game out of it. They eventually came back and took a brief 5 point lead, before losing the lead for good and losing by 6 points.

Keita Bates-Diop had a huge game for Ohio State, scoring 28 points, to tie for the lead for all scorers. Kam Williams dropped in 19 and CJ Jackson with 18. Zach Norvell Jr had a huge 28 point and 12 rebound double double to lead the Zags.

This was the final game in Buckeyes uniforms for seniors Jae'Sean Tate, Andrew Dakich and Kam Williams. The big question this offseason looming in Columbus will be whether Keita Bates-Diop will stay or go to the draft.
