This was another fine officiated game in the Big where both teams had bigtime moments and some very low one. Illinois(12-12, 2-9 Conf) came in with two straight conference wins and used that momentum to jump out to a 30-15 lead. The Buckeyes playing without suspended started Kam Williams(Baltimore,Maryland)would respond by scoring the games next 20 points. From there the two teams traded a couple of more runs before the Buckeyes(20-5, 11-1 Conf) finally was about to get the win.
Illinois shot just 40.4% from the floor. They struggled from the three point line32.1% and was70.6% from the free throw line. The Buckeyes shot46% overall, 18.8% from three and a nice 78.8% from the free throw line.
Leading the Buckeyes with 35 points was,Keita Bates-Diop(Normal, Ill) He also had 13 boards. Freshman Kaleb Wesson(Westerville, Ohio) also had a double, double(10 points and 10 boards)
Illinois was led by Mark Alstork(Dayton, Ohio) 19 points,3 rebounds and 3 steals.
