OSU wrapped up their weekend series against Wisconsin, shutting out the Badgers 7-0. Shelby McCombs single handily did most of the damage, pitching a complete game shut out on the mound. But, she also went 2-2 at the plate, driving in a grand slam in the 5th.

The Buckeyes will travel to Rutgers for a three game, Friday-Sunday, series this coming weekend.

Opening up their weekend series at Rutgers last night, it only took 6 innings for the Buckeyes to erupt and earn a 12-3 victory. A large portion of the runs for OSU were unearned as it seemed Rutgers didn't know what to do. Lilli Piper did a lot of the damage for the Buckeyes, as she drove in 4 runs. On the mound for OSU, Morgan Ray improved her season record to 12-5, as she went all 6 innings, and only 2 of Rutgers runs were earned.

They continue play today at 1pm.

A second game for Rutgers equaled a second victory for the Lady Buckeyes, as they pulled out a 6-2 win. All six runs for OSU were driven in by six different players, highlighted by a solo home run by Shelby McCombs, who also claimed the victory on the mound.

They wrap up their weekend series on Sunday at noon.

Ohio State earned a double header sweep today of rival Penn State in Columbus. In the first game, they came away with a 9-1 victory which only took 6 innings. Shelby McCombs went the distance on the mound and allowing just the one run, while striking out 9, she also drove in a run on a solo home run in the 4th inning. Emily Clark did the initial damage for the Buckeyes in the first inning as she drove a two run home run over the fence. The Buckeyes added runs the remainder of the game by playing small ball.

The second game was closer, but the Buckeyes still pulled out a 7-4 win. Several pitchers chipped in on the mound, but it was Morgan Ray, who went 4 innings, who picked up the win (her 14th). Ashley Goodwin blasted the only home run of the game for OSU, a two run shot. Bailee Sturgeon also chipped in with 2 RBI on the game.

Next up for Ohio State is a three game weekend set at Northwestern, beginning on Friday.

The Buckeyes opened up their weekend series at Northwestern today by getting blasted and losing, 10-2. OSU just couldn't ever seem to get a big inning going, as Shelby McCombs took the loss on the mound. However, McCombs did produce Ohio State's only two runs of the game on a two run home run.

They will look for a rebound, as they face off again tomorrow afternoon.

Like last season pitching is a very weak spot on his team.

The rest of the weekend didn't go much better for the Buckeyes at Northwestern, as they were routed again in 6 innings, falling 14-6. Morgan Ray took the loss on the mound, going just 1.2 innings and giving up 3 earned. Ashley Goodwin ended the game with 3 RBI, and two of them coming on a three run home run.

The third game of the series was cancelled due to weather.

A game with an unexpected end result sums up today's Buckeye game against in-state rival Ohio. The Bobcats dominated the Buckeyes, 7-0 in today's action in Columbus, as Ohio continue their fantastic season.

Taking the loss on the hill was Shelby McCombs for the Buckeyes, as she only lasted 2+ innings, giving up 6 hits and 5 runs, with 4 of those being earned, while walking 2 and striking out just 1. Blasting the game's only home run was Mikayla Cooper for Ohio in the 5th inning.

Ohio State will host Michigan State in a 3 game set this weekend, beginning on Friday.

Ohio State got back on track in a big way this weekend, concluding a 3-game series sweep against Michigan State in Columbus on Sunday, winning 6-5. Morgan Ray got the starting nod for the Buckeyes on the mound, but wasn't very effective, she made it into the fourth inning, without getting an out, and allowing 4 runs. Enter Shelby McCombs on the mound, with the Buckeyes trailing 4-1, she allowed 2 runs to score, one charge to her and one charged to Ray. She then proceeded to shut down the Spartans, while the Buckeyes went to work. OSU had a field day with Bridgette Rainey seemingly right after McCombs entered the game. Lilli Piper drove in one run in the fifth to inch closer. Emily Clark then blasted a three run home run later in the 5th to tie the game at 6-6. Then, in the 7th, Emily Clark drove a ball deep into the outfield for a sac fly and the Buckeyes clinched the win.

OSU will get back into action this coming weekend as they host Maryland in a three game set, Friday-Sunday.
