As we near the beginning of college football season, I read an article. It isn't crucial info, but it's stuff that's nice to know.
The first CFP rankings will come out on October 30 at 7pm on ESPN. Selection day will be December 2.
There are currently 9 members that have a recusal due to their partnerships with certain schools. For those that are unaware what the recusal rule is, "a recused member shall not participate in any votes involving the team from which the individual is recused." These members are also asked to leaving the meeting room when their team is being discussed so that no overlap happens. The recusal policy goes into effect when a committee member or an immediate family member is still being paid by a school, provides professional services for a school or is on the coaching or administrative staff or team.
Members that have recusals are as follows: Scott Stricklin (Florida); Todd Stansbury (Georgia Tech); Gene Smith (Ohio State); Joe Castiglione (Oklahoma); Rob Mullens (Oregon); Paola Boivin (Arizona State); Herb Deromedi (Central Michigan); Jeff Bower (Southern Mississippi); Frank Beamer (Virginia Tech & Oklahoma).
The full list of committee members are as follows, with their position at each school:

Re: CFP Committee Recusals and Rankings
Gene Smith is a member of the CFP selection committee and therefore is recused, or barred, from discussion about or voting for his employer.
