The Buckeyes will kick off the 2018 season on Friday, when they host Furman to open up the Wolstein Classic. They will also play Hofstra on Sunday in the same classic. Dayton will also be in the tournament (which OSU will not play).

OSU kicked off their 2018 season under first year head coach Brian Maisonneuve Friday night, and fell to visiting Furman 2-0 in front of over 1,600 fans at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The Paladins of Furman struck first as Rocky Guerra dumped a shot into the back left of the net in the 17th minute. Their second goal came at the 53:40 mark of the second half as Danny Kierath beat Ohio State goalkeeper Parker Siegfried to a loose ball to score an empty net goal after a failed clearance.

The Buckeyes next game is on Sunday at 2:30pm as they host Hofstra.

It was a big win for OSU soccer today, as Coach Mais got his first win at the helm of the Buckeyes program. Ohio State posted a 1-0 victory over visiting Hofstra to finish the weekend at 1-1. OSU junior Jake Scheper put the only goal of the game in the back of the net in the 65th minute of play off a penalty kick. The Buckeyes had the advantage in nearly every category and controlled the whole game as Hofstra got just 2 shots on goal, compared to OSU's 8.

Next up, the Buckeyes will travel to Dayton next weekend for the Dayton Classic where they'll play Marshall on Friday and Milwaukee on Sunday.

Kicking off the Dayton Classic, OSU was edged by Marshall 1-0. It didn't take long for the Thundering Herd to get on the score board, with the only goal of the game. Kelan Swales scored in the second minute of play on a cross from just five yards out. It was all defense after that. In the 53rd minute both teams went down to 10 men, after both sides were issued a red card. Ohio State was at a deficit in the shots on goal category, 14-12.

The Buckeyes will return to play on Sunday in Dayton, where they will play against Milwaukee.

It's been a rough start to the season for the Buckeyes on the pitch, as they fell short this afternoon in Dayton against Milwaukee, 1-0. Milwaukee was able to score in the 31st minute of the first period for the game's only goal. Both teams were rendered scoreless on offense for the remainder of the game. OSU was outmatched in nearly every aspect, including shots (13-7), fouls (11-16). The Buckeyes did record 3 saves compared to Milwaukee's 1.

Next up, Ohio State will host South Florida on Friday.

Last night's game turned out to be what would be considered a grudge match at the Jesse O, as Ohio State and Bowling Green ended in a 1-1 tie after playing all the way through double overtime. The first goal didn't come until the 72nd minute, as Joshua Jackson-Ketchup gave OSU the lead with his first goal of the season. But, that didn't last long, as the Falcons were able to tie the match up with only 9 seconds remaining!

No more goals were scored in OT or 2OT, giving the two teams the tie.

Next up, the Buckeyes travel to Penn State on Sunday.

Another disappointing game goes in the loss column for the Buckeyes, as they fall at Penn State on Sunday 3-1 to open up Big Ten play. The Nittany Lions were the first on the board, scoring in the 31st minute of action. Then, just over five minutes later, PSU found the back of the net again. The Buckeyes were finally able to find the back of the net in the 68th minute to pull the match within one when Devyn Etling was able to score his first career goal. Then, the Buckeyes could smell blood in the water, as they actually scored a goal that was eventually called off due to an offsides penalty. Penn State was able to seal the win in the 80th minute when they scored one final goal.

OSU will be back in action on Friday as they host Northwestern.

Friday night, the men's soccer team earned their second draw in their last three matches, ending 0-0 after a double overtime battle with a solid Northwestern team. Most of the game stats in this one were similar. Ohio State recorded 8 shots, compared to Northwestern's 9. Both teams recorded 2 saves. Northwestern took 7 corners compared to OSU's 4.

Next up, the Buckeyes travel to Michigan on Tuesday.

Michigan vs. Ohio State is always a big game, regardless of what sport it's in. And Tuesday night was no different, as the Buckeyes traveled to #21 Michigan in a men's soccer match. It was a tight match through the first half, as only one goal was allowed, and it came off the foot of a Wolverine player, as they led 1-0 at the half.

In the second half, it was nearly all Michigan, as they scored two more unanswered goals. The Buckeyes were finally able to get on the board late in the second half (85th minute) as Michael Prosuk was able to strike the back of the net, but it was too little too late for OSU.

That drops the Buckeyes to 1-6-2 on the season for their first year head coach. Next up, OSU will travel host Rutgers on Sunday.

It was yet another tough game for OSU this afternoon, as they hosted Rutgers and fell 3-2. The Buckeyes had this game all but won, until the 62nd minute in the second half. OSU was the first on the board, as Devyn Etling buried a shot in the 17th minute. Then again in the first half, Jack Holland scored his first career goal for Ohio State in the 35th minute. No more scoring happened in the first half.

Enter the 62nd minute of the game. The Buckeyes led 2-0, then in the blink of an eye the game was tied. A long ball was sent into the OSU zone that deflected off an OSU player and went right into the back of the net. Then just 43 seconds later, Rutgers was able to score on a rebound shot to tie the game up, just like that.

Rutgers was then able to force overtime, and knock in a header for the golden goal victory.

Next up, Ohio State has a pair of non-conference games, as they host Cleveland State on Friday and travel to Syracuse on next Monday.

In a game where normally OSU would cruise to victory, it turned out to be another game where they struggled mightily, losing to visiting Cleveland State 2-0. The Vikings took a 1-0 lead 38 minutes into the game. It was all defense for another 20+ minutes, until Cleveland State was able to score the final goal of the game, to put the nail in the coffin in the 59th minute.

The Buckeyes will have another non-conference game when they travel to Syracuse on Monday.

Another game equaled another loss for the Buckeyes on the pitch, as they traveled to Syracuse and fell 3-0 to the Orange. The Buckeyes had a good start to the game, and had a few scoring chances, but none of them found the net. The Orange were able to get two quick goals in the first half to take a 2-0 lead, which proved to be enough. Syracuse knocked in one more goal in the second half to seal the victory.

Ohio State will get back into action on Friday when they host Michigan State, and host Kentucky next Tuesday.

For the first time in almost two weeks, the Buckeyes nearly won a game, but ultimately came up just short. OSU hosted #8 Michigan State on Friday night and fell 2-1. The first half of this one was completely scoreless and not many scoring opportunities were presented for either team. Then, in the 53rd minute of play, the Spartans finished a scored a goal from a yard out to go on top. It took 34 more minutes for either team to get another solid scoring chance, as Devyn Etling scored for the Buckeyes in the 87th minute for his third goal of the season. As it looked like the game would go into overtime, being deadlocked at 1-1, Michigan State had a little more magic in them. The Ohio State goalkeeper made a save, but deflected the shot right to an MSU player to score the game winning goal with just 19 seconds remaining in regulation.

The next game for OSU will be on Tuesday as they host #5 Kentucky.

Another bad night for the Buckeyes on the pitch on Friday night, as they fell at Maryland 5-0. There was no chance for the Buckeyes, as they had very few scoring chances throughout the whole game, giving up five goals to a team that has struggled some this year.

They will host Indiana on Wednesday. Indiana is a top team in the nation, nearly every year, and this year is no exception.

In their home finale, the Buckeyes pulled out all the stops in trying to pull off the upset against #2 Indiana, but ultimately fell 1-0. The lone goal of the game for the Hoosiers came in the 28th minute of play, then defense was the name of the game the rest of the night. With that win, IU claimed the outright Big Ten regular season title, and the #1 seed for the conference tournament.

Ohio State will wrap up the regular season on Sunday when they travel to Wisconsin.

The Buckeye's miserable season came to an end yesterday as they fell on the road to Wisconsin, 1-0 in double overtime. OSU ends the season at 1-14-2 overall, and a winless 0-7-1 in the conference. This was their first year under their new head coach, and they clearly have some things to work on in the future, both in recruiting and on the field.

OSU will have a chance to continue their season on Saturday, as they will play in the Big Ten first round against Northwestern in Bloomington. The time they played this season, the Buckeyes and Wildcats deadlocked at 1-1 after double overtime.

OSU's season came to an actual end yesterday, as they fell in the play-in game of the B1G tournament to Northwestern 3-1. The Buckeyes were the first to hit the scoreboard, as they did so in the 17th minute of play. But, that was all for them, as the Wildcats would score three unanswered goals to take the win and head into the quarterfinals.
