Ohio State has been on it this year, as it was not only Senior day today, but they also picked up their 5th consecutive win, defeating Michigan State 6-1. The Buckeyes got on the board first in the 10th minute of play off a goal from Jessica Hourihane. Just four minutes later, the Buckeyes scored again off the stick of Courtney Daniels. Esther Clotet then put the Buckeyes up 3-0 off a penalty corner in the 30th minute.

Moving ahead to the second half, Ohio State continued their unanswered scoring run off the stick of Sammy Stone. Kelly Nolan then scored on a penalty stroke with under fifteen minutes to play. Michigan State was finally able to get on the board off a penalty corner in the 55th minute of play. With under 10 minutes left to play, the Buckeyes scored one more goal just for safe measure.

Next up, OSU will play their regular season finale at Michigan on Sunday.

The Buckeyes regular season finale was a thriller, and nobody expected anything less, as they ultimately fell at #7 Michigan 2-1 in double overtime. The first half of this one was a complete battle for both teams, especially on the defensive end, as the first 35 minutes of play went scoreless.

In the 53rd minute, the Buckeyes were able to strike first as Esther Clotet rifled home a shot after a penalty corner was awarded to OSU. The Buckeyes would hold the lead for quite some time, as both teams played a strong defensive game, but Michigan was able to tie the game up with under seven minutes to play. At the end of regulation and the first overtime, both teams were still tied. Then the game went into double overtime, where it went scoreless for nearly the whole period, until the Wolverines scored with just three minutes to play to earn a hard fought victory.

Now that the field hockey tournament field is set for the Big Ten Tournament, OSU has earned the #4 seed and will host the #5 seed Rutgers in the quarterfinals next Sunday. In their only matchup this season in Piscataway, Ohio State defeated Rutgers 4-3.

Although it was a home game for the #23 Buckeyes in the quarterfinal of the Big Ten tournament, it still qualified as an upset as they defeated #10 Rutgers 1-0 in double overtime to move on to the semifinals. It took all the way until just 1:31 remaining in double overtime, but Esther Clotet was able to take a pass and push the ball past the Rutgers goalkeeper for the win.

The last time the Buckeyes advanced to the semifinals of the Big Ten tournament was all the way back in 2013. This was the second time this season that OSU defeated Rutgers this season.

Next up, Ohio State will face-off with the #1 seed in the tournament, Maryland, on Friday in Evanston on the campus of Northwestern.

Today was the semifinals of the B1G tournament, and it was a tall task for the Buckeyes as they played Maryland, the #2 team nationally and the #1 team in the B1G tournament. The first time the played this season, it was a thriller, as Maryland won 1-0. Today, however, was a completely different story, as the Terrapins destroyed the Buckeyes 9-1. This damages OSU's chances at the NCAA Tournament, but they still have a real shot to make it.

The bracket for the national championship was announced today. Despite a spectacular season, the Buckeyes just missed an at-large selection. Maryland, Michigan, Rutgers, Iowa and Penn State all made the field for the Big Ten, the most from any conference.

Ohio State's record against teams that made the tournament was 2-6.
