For the second season in a row, the Buckeyes opened up the season with a victory over Alabama. OSU jumped all over the Tide, winning 181-119. The Buckeyes got off to a fast start, cruising to victory in the 400 meter medley relay. Ohio State then went 1st and 2nd in the 200 free. They also went 1st and 2nd in the 100 back. OSU also followed that one up with a victory in the 100 breast.

The team participating in the 200 fly took the Tide out to the woodshed, as the Buckeyes finished the race in 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th. Freya Rayner dominated in the 50 free and 100 free, winning both races. Just like the men, the ladies finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd on the one meter and three meter diving boards. In the 500 free, Molly Kowal claimed victory for the Buckeyes.

Then, in the 200 IM, the Buckeyes finished the race in 1st and 3rd. Finishing out the evening, the 400 free relay team claimed victory.

OSU will have a few weeks off of competition before hosting a tri against Texas A&M and Louisville on October 12 and 13.

The women's swimmers and divers ended their first day of a tri-meet by trailing #5 Texas A&M 104-63. Louisville was scheduled to compete as a team, but they did not send a complete women's team so they are not included in the scoring.

The Buckeyes earned wins in the 200 free relay, 500 free and 3-meter diving board.

They will look to finish on Saturday on a high note.

It was another extremely successful day for the Buckeyes, as they remain in 3rd place after the second day of competition at the B1G Championships, but inch closer and closer to the leaders, as they trail 2nd place Michigan by just 2.5 points. Indiana leads the team competition with 497 points, followed by Michigan with 436.5 points and OSU with 434 points.

It started off with the 500 freestyle, as the the Buckeyes place 6 (all scoring points) in the race, while all of them also hit the NCAA "B" qualifying time. Led by Molly Kowal with a 5th place finish in the race.

After that was the 200 IM, where the Buckeyes impressed again. They had 4 swimmers in this race score points as well, and again, all of them hit the NCAA "B" qualifying mark. They were led by Kathrin Demler's 6th place finish.

Nothing stood out for the Buckeyes more than the 50 freestyle where they had 7 swimmers score points for the team! Including 3 top 10 finishers. 4 of those 7 scorers for OSU hit the NCAA "B" qualifying mark. They were led by Freya Rayner's 3rd place finish in the event.

The Buckeyes put in another solid performance in the 1-meter dive. Although just 2 Buckeyes scored in this one, it still is team points! Genevieve Angerame earned a 10th place finish, while Lara Tarvit finished in 13th.

The last event of the day was the 400 medley relay, in which the Buckeye team finished in 5th place and earned an NCAA "B" qualifying time.

Tomorrow, Ohio State will look to inch closer to the lead, as they compete in the 100 Fly, 400 IM, 200 Free, 100 Breast, 100 Back and 3-meter dive.
