1st bad loss of the year. Question is, how does this young team bounce back?

Holtmann's squad plays fundamentally sound, team oriented basketball. They do not yet have the gifted "go to" scorer or big man to consistently slug it out in the Big 10. They still are on track for 20+ wins and a likely middle of the pack conference finish. I think we will all take that as a successful season compared to the downward spiral of Thad Matta's last few seasons.

I think K. Wesson has been great, but if you don't have a consistent shot maker, it's too easy to collapse on him. They need a guy on the perimeter that can be consistent.

Buckeyes completely outplayed today. More than likely will completely drop out of the rankings.

As I predicted, OSU dropped out of the rankings this week. They are now receiving votes.

Have to find a consistent perimeter threat on offense if they want to stop the bleeding. I'd like to see Ahrens get a little more time.

Another loss, they really need to do something to get their act together.

Turning the ball over, Wesson not playing smart and picking up too many fouls, and literally nobody can hit an outside shot right now.

The book is out on the Buckeyes. Make perimeter players beat you. Collapse on Wesson and get him on the bench.

In an extremely tough matchup for the Buckeyes last night, ended in a loss on the road to #5 Michigan, 65-49. OSU got out to an early 12-6 lead, but were unable to sustain after halftime, when the Wolverines just put their foot on the pedal. Kaleb Wesson led the Buckeyes with 12 points, and CJ Jackson chipped in 11.

Michigan's Jordan Poole led all scorers with 15 points.

Next up, Ohio State will have a re-match with Rutgers in Columbus on Saturday.

Rutger is playing good ball right now. Not good for the buckeyes who aren't playing good ball.

Hopefully that might be able to give them a little momentum heading to IU on Sunday. Haven't had any momentum in awhile.

The Buckeyes (15-7; 5-6) were able to survive last night at home, as they defeated Penn State (8-15; 1-11), 74-70. Although the Nittany Lions are not having a good year, they came to play last night in Columbus. Luther Muhammad had a solid showing for OSU with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Andre Wesson notched his first career double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Lamar Stevens had a 20 point and 12 rebound double-double and Josh Reaves added 20 points for Penn State.

Next up, Ohio State travels to Bloomington to play Indiana on Sunday.
