What to expect FINAL CFB Poll by Playoff Committee on December 2nd
What to expect FINAL CFB Poll by Playoff Committee on December 2nd
OK... From my perspective here's my FINAL take...
1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Notre Dame
4. Oklahoma
5. Ohio State
6. Georgia
7. UCF
Ohio State played good. But I don't think enough to leapfrog Oklahoma.
And the remote idea of 2 SEC teams this year is absurd. Georgia had their chance... In my mind they're OUT.
Clemson Took care of Pitt.. No surprise there.
Now with Notre Dame I could see the committee dropping Notre Dame to 4 and Oklahoma 3 since Notre Dame has no Conference Championship to fight for.
It's going to come all down to if Ohio State did enough... I think the committee gives Oklahoma the nod...

Notre Dame with NO RESUME and will get steamrolled. I know the Committee will put them in but consider this:
Only beat Ball State (4-8) 24-16
Only beat Vandy (6-6) 22-17
Only beat Pitt (7-6) 19-14
Only beat USC (5-7) 24-17 last game of the season.
Common Opponents with OSU
Michigan 24-17 and we know what OSU did
Northwestern 31-21 and we know what OSU just did
With Notre Dame in I see it like this:
1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Oklahoma/Ohio State (they’ll choose Oklahoma)
4. Notre Dame
5. Oklahoma/Ohio State (they’ll put Ohio State here
6. Georgia
7. Michigan
8. UCF

Re: What to expect FINAL CFB Poll by Playoff Committee on December 2nd
Georgia, Oklahoma and Ohio State had a play in game today to get in the playoffs. Neither dominated to take the position. Georgia played good but made mistakes to lose the game. The fake punt??? That is still not a win.
Oklahoma played a tight game to avenge their only loss of the year.
Ohio State won but kept it close most of the game. Not able to dominate to overcome the media cry of the Purdue loss.
I think it will be
1 Alabama
2 Clemson
3 Oklahoma
4 Notre Dame
5 Georgia
6 Ohio State
7 UCF

Your spot on Farmer. State did enough to stay ahead of UCF.farmer wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 12:13 am Georgia, Oklahoma and Ohio State had a play in game today to get in the playoffs. Notre Dame are pretenders, they'll be out first round, no matter who they play.
Re: What to expect FINAL CFB Poll by Playoff Committee on December 2nd
Notre Dame has done nothing, weak, weak, weak schedule with no conference championship. Sitting at home resting after barely beating a bad USC team last week, while the rest of the top 6 played for Conference Championships.GalliaGrad78 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 5:44 am Notre Dame are pretenders, they'll be out first round, no matter who they play.

I hope OSU gets in but an undefeated Notre Dame will be in.

I think ohio state has made there case that they are worthy. they are 12-1. big ten east champions, and big ten champions. they played a tougher schedule according to teams that were ranked when they played them. murdered number 4 Michigan in the final game of the season. they played no fcs teams, what more can you ask for.and they had a very nice win in a convincing final score in their win over northwestern in the big ten championship game. they have nothing to hang their heads about other than the purdue game. but the big ten is chalked full of teams that can beat anybody and day. with everything that happened this year, this poster is very proud of them.

How can they elevate Oklahoma over Notre Dame and not do the same with Ohio State?
Both have much better resumes than Notre Dame.

ESPN is pushing Georgia so hard for that 4th spot... It's sad... If Ohio State had a similar schedule and record and wasn't a conference Champion they wouldn't give Ohio State a glimpse... That's a Fact.

If Oklahoma gets in then Georgia vs Ohio State is a no brainer if you want the other BEST teams to play each other. If not let OSU play Washington and blow them out which is more than likely what will happen.

Part of me hopes that if OSU and OK cant both jump ND (and they should), put Georgia at #4 and kick OK out. That way they keep 3 power 5 conferences out and this entire scam of a playoff system will blow up and move to an expansion starting next year.
Re: What to expect FINAL CFB Poll by Playoff Committee on December 2nd
Of course Penn State back in 2016 might debate that.

bammer
Clemson
Notre Dame
Georgia
I would leave Georgia at #4. They played bammer better than any team this year. Also I think they are better than Oklahoma but not better than the Buckeyes. I don't think the Bucks will jump into the #4 spot.
