Per NBC sports Major Applewhite to be fired (has been) at Houston. WVU's Dana Holgorsen may be a candidate to lead the Cougars. While the AAC would be a step down from the Big 12, Holgorsen may be on shaky ground at WVU given another late season collapse. That and he has past ties to Houston as an offensive coordinator.

From a little I've read Holgerson wanted an extension and AD Lyons was not willing to negotiate. With no talks of an extension on the agenda Dana started looking. First at TT and eventually Houston. Supposedly he had also talked with another school about their opening also.
Hopefully the returning players are a good fit with the new head coach and his staff's schemes and you don't have to suffer through 2-3 years of recruiting players that fit. It looks like Neal Brown might be the right guy. Many talking heads are saying WVU might have made the best hire of the year. We will see.
