Ray Salnave (Elmont, NY), who put the game in jeopardy with a late turnover, immediately redeemed himself by hitting a short floater with 1.1 seconds left that lifted Monmouth (6-14, 5-2 Conf) to an 83-81 win over Iona today. Salnave led the way with 19 points and 3 assist. Deion Hammond (Mitchellville, MD) chipped in with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Coming off of the bench to score 12 points and grab 4 rebounds was, fan favorite Sam Ibiezugbe (Simsbury, CT)

For Iona (6-11, 4-2 Conf) who tied the game up at 81, after Rickey McGill (Spring Valley, NY) hit a three pointer, off of a Salnave turnover, this was a hard one to drop. McGill had 18 points. Leading the Gaels with 21 points off of the bench was Asante Gist (East Orange, New Jersey). Tajuan Agee (Chicago, Ill) tossed in 20.
