Per Eleven Warriors, Ohio State has an accepted offer for Kentucky graduate transfer quarterback Gunnar Hoak. Hoak is an Ohio native who played his high school football at Dublin Coffman. He also has family ties to former Buckeye player Frec Pagac. He will have immediate eligibility with two years left of his four. The transfer portal gives as well as takes.

Great news about Gunnar Hoak. Yesterday they also got a commitment from JP Andrade, a 3 Star QB from California as a Prefered Walk-On. At least they do now have a little depth after Baldwin transferred. I would guess that after Fall practice, that Gunnar Hoak will now emerge as the back-up QB.

Problem is, you've got 4 guys who have never taken a snap in an OSU uniform (Yeah, Fields played some mop up during a couple games at Georgia). This will be a very interesting year after what I saw of him in the spring game which wasn't much.

I got to see Fields "mop up" last season against Middle Tennessee. He showed great but unpolished athleticism. Think of Terrelle Pryor with a better arm. Yet it is unrealistic to expect him to have Haskins like numbers and lead the Bucks to a conference championship and playoffs based on his potential alone. OSU has too many other questions to solve for 2019 to automatically expect a great season. Hopefully Ryan Day will have the answers.

Bait, according to Eleven Warriors, the Buckeyes had him come to a couple camps when he was in High School at Dublin. Whether that was because of all his relatives, his Dad, his Uncle, his Cousin, all played at OSU, plus Uncle Fred not only played for the Buckeyes, but coached for a number of years as an Assistant Coach. At the same time, they were also recruiting a couple other QB's, witch were rated higher. One of those QB's, just happened to be Dwayne Haskins, who at first committed to U of Maryland, but then decommitted and committed to the Buckeyes. He had a great "Spring Game" this year, but Kentucky's starting QB was returning, plus he was ready to graduate, ( Same situation as Joey Burrow ) and with 2 years still to play, why not come home and play for the Buckeyes, where he would have gone to begin with if he had been offered, plus now work on getting his Masters Degree in these next 2 years. A Win Win for everyone involved. I know that he's a very smart kid, probably not Starting QB talent for OSU, but should be a very capable Back-Up for the next couple years.

Bait, When you're not on SEOP, and want to read anything and everything about the Buckeyes, there are 2 or 3 other Sites that really cover the Buckeyes in every sport. You probably have been on these Sites before, but if you haven't, just today they have another good article on the transfer from Kentucky. ( Eleven Warriors.Com.)

Buckeyes get another QB, as Jagger LaRoe is transferring from Texas AM, where he was a Redshirt Freshman this past year. He will be a Preferred Walk-On, and will have 4 years Eligibility left. They have gone from very little depth at all at QB just a few weeks ago, to having about 6 QB on the roster.
