#7 Michigan squeaks out a win over Army 24-21

Post by Chieftain2009 »

This was a tough one for the Wolverines. Had to barely get by in double overtime. They didn't look like a top 10 team in this one.

Michigan (2-0):

Shea Patterson - 19/29; 207 pass yards
Zach Charbonnet - 33 carries; 100 rush yards; 3 rush TDs; 6 receiving yards
Ronnie Bell - 7 receptions; 81 receiving yards
Jake Moody - 2/2 extra points; 1/1 field goals (43 yards)

Army (1-1):

Kelvin Hopkins Jr - 2/4; 43 pass yards; 1 INT; 51 rush yards; 2 rush TDs
Connor Slomka - 29 carries; 92 rush yards
Artice Hobbs IV - 2 receptions; 43 receiving yards; 13 rush yards
Cole Talley - 3/3 extra points; 0/1 field goals

Army gave it away after holding Xichigan to FG in 2nd OT.
Xichigan way over rated after two games.

I agree they ranked too high and Patterson is not going to get them to the promised land. I don't know why Jimmy keeps playing him over Mccaffrey, he is the future of this team. Lets also not forget this is the same Army team that took Choklahoma to OT last year in Norman.

I will hold off saying Michigan is overrated.
Army did the same to Oklahoma last year and the Sooners end up in the playoffs. Going to take the wait and see approach.

The difference is OK last year had a Heisman winner and Michigan has Shea Patterson who only looks good against mediocre defenses (statistically factual statement).

Comparing the 2 isnt a fair arguement.

Michigan might go 5-7 this year because their offense is bad and they cant stop the run or play action defensively.

I thought Michigan was overrated last year too. Everyone talked about how good their defense was. They were SLOW

They are both slow and weak up front. They will have 4 maybe 5 losses this year.

Offensively they are awful.

They will get totally exposed vs Wisky.

A blind man can see that Harbaugh is on the hot seat.
