Week 7: OSU vs. Wisconsin
What many will consider the Buckeyes first "true" test.
A great atmosphere in front of a ton of crazy Badger fans in Camp Randall.
A must win for the Buckeyes to stay in contention for the BCS title,
a must win for the Badgers to stay in contention for the Big 10 title.
Buckeyes haven't allowed a 100 yard rusher in 29 games.
Wisconsin's entire offense is predicated on running the ball to set up play action.
What are your thoughts on this one.

Its going to be tough ,i like the fact that TP didnt have to run alot yesterday to save him for this game. The o line still scares me on run blocking, pass blocking was ok. they need to keep Saine where hes at and use more of Hall and Berry in the backfeild they can make people miss instead of running straight into the pile like Herron. I think the D will handle Clay ,if you stop him you stop them.

Yes if you stop the run, and I think our defense will do just that, the playaction is not very effective. And they proved against Indiana that our D line is good enough to not blitz every play, just play good coverage on the football.
They will be fine.
As for Mark May's head exploding, I dont think we could get that lucky.

while i wanted to pick the option where mark may's head explodes, i chose the buckeyes by 9 or less. this will be a great game. and college gameday will be there. chance for corso, to put on some real headgear. but camp randal at night. and these two teams always means close explosive games. could well be a game of the year. i'd love to see the buckeyes explode on them, but this is a tough draw. we must do alot better running the ball, and red zone conversions, if somehow they can contain the pass. because the bucks are more the passing team this year.i don't care how they do it, just win baby.
Re: Week 7: OSU vs. Wisconsin
A team worthy of the #1 ranking should be able to go on the road and win a tough conference game.
Buckeyes by 9 or less.

I agree with you 100%! I am confident the Buckeyes will go into Wisconsin and pick up the victory, but any true fan is or should be concerned about this game.Mister B wrote:A team worthy of the #1 ranking should be able to go on the road and win a tough conference game.

Re: Week 7: OSU vs. Wisconsin
OSU takes this one..I chose 10 or more simply because OSU is growing better each week. I think this is their first *TRUE* test all year, because it is a good team in their OWN backyard which OSU doesn't see often. But, they got their hiccup out against Illinois and won't make the mistake of showing up late to the game...OSU still handles this team...but it never helps your case when you have #1 in front of your name on the tv screen. As for Mark May, I can't believe SEOfan is even giving that guy any attention on here..

i think this will be a golden opp. for ohio state. but at this point you gotta be concerned with wins only. but anybody that does not think style points don't come into play here, think again. and thats not what tressel is about. listen to us, comparing common opponents and scores. which you really can't do. because what if south carolina loses to ole miss this saturday. teams and games are different each week. but the talking heads wanna see blowouts or else.

They saw Clay last year and he wasnt much (20 car 59 yds). And IMO he hasnt gotten that much better (MSU held him to 4.7 ypc and their not close to the Bucks level defensively). I'm more worried about the backup James White.gahs4ever wrote:
It is a testimony to the Buckeye "D" that they havent allowed a 100 yard rusher, but there are two facts that have yet to be seen. I dont believe they've seen a Jon Clay YET this year, and secondly, when your opponents are getting blown out most Saturdays, your game plan goes in the crapper, and your passing game is emphasized. Hard to stay committed to a ground attack when you are down 28-0.

Re: Week 7: OSU vs. Wisconsin
Oh I forgot....the SEC has:
Vandy
Ole Miss
Tennessee
Kentucky
Miss State
South Carolina (who got thumpted by UCONN last year in the Papa Johns toilet bowl)
Yeah thats quite a conference once you get past Florida, Bama and LSU!
And lets not forget how bad these teams have been over the past 5 years, in comparison to the top 3 SEC teams:
Arkansas
Auburn
Georgia (who has their coach's head on a chopping block....good thing he won last weekend)
Yeah they are really setting the world on fire as a conference.

Re: Week 7: OSU vs. Wisconsin
interesting stat : the record for the #1 team in the polls for going on the road against a ranked opponent AFTER winning the previous week against a top ranked opponent at home ------- 1-6 . Not an easy thing to do. MD

Colleges either win all of their games, or they dont. Thats what the BCS has brought the game to. Lovely system.ManitouDan wrote:interesting stat : the record for the #1 team in the polls for going on the road against a ranked opponent AFTER winning the previous week against a top ranked opponent at home ------- 1-6 . Any unbeatens, as long as they are from one of the MAJOR conferences should represent themselves in the NC game over 1 loss teams, regardless of who they are.
