Zimmerman and Blizzard for SW are tough to defend. Take away their driving to the basket and you should come out with a victory.

South Webster came out hitting and the Ironmen came out clanking. Blizzard scored 5 quick and then picked up 2 quick fouls. Zimmerman did his thing and the kid that came in for Blizzard chipped in 7 points in the half. Tristan Prater kept the Ironmen close with a big half and the Ironmen trailed 24-19 at half.

Starting the 3rd quarter Drew Bragg made everyone quickly forget his tough first half. Bragg had 14 points in the first 8 min of the 2nd half. Jackson defense was incredible in the 2nd half. And pulled away late for a 47-36 win. Prater led the way with 18 pts, Bragg hit 15, Blankenship played the entire game and was big on the defensive side and knocked in 7 points. Chris Hughes chipped in 4 points but had 10 big rebounds and was everywhere with great hustle breaking up a lot of plays.

Zimmerman...a premier scorer in 8th grade for entire area went for 14 and I think Blizzard had 10

Refs did a pretty nice job I thought.

Rematch in Jackson isn’t too far away.

great run down Ironman92.......it most definitely was a court full of talent from the jeeps and ironmen.......as for the refs doing a nice a job.....the first half they let the kids play which is great and how it should be ...........but the 2nd half they did not stay consentient with their style of referring from the 1st half.......my argument is to stay consistent and fair for the athletes the entire game........if they let them play like they did the 1st half then the 2nd half should be the same.......but for goodness sakes I am not on here writing complaining about referees at a jr. high basketball game......great game and fun atmosphere all the way around.....keep on keeping on RED!

McClain 39

Jackson fought the rim all night. Missed a lot of close up shots they simply just rarely do. MCLain really made some great shots and they weren’t lucky makes. They had a couple really good shooters/scorers. I see them winning a good number of games. We may see them 3 times this year.

Tristan Prater got the Ironmen going early on with a bunch of points. Drew Bragg did his thing and carried the Ironmen late. Logan Miller and Trey Miller each came off the bench when they were called and sparked Jackson. Nate Woodard used his length and good hand to cause a lot of trouble on defense. Holden Blankenship with some crazy tough buckets at the basket and defensive pressure.

Good win in the end...I’ll wager that will be our lowest shooting % of the season.
Looks like Greenfield hasn’t lost since we beat them by 12. They are 8-1.

Jackson 48
Washington 17

Chris Hughes was big with 13 pts and a nice stat filler of rebounds, steals, blocks and added a couple assists...great on defense as well. Nate Woodard played a big role in scoring and rebounding. Logan Miller continued his great play as a starter and taking care of point guard duties. Big points, assists and rebounds. Trey Miller chipped in around 10 points including a couple 3’s in the second half. Grant Mastin remained a ball hawk getting every loose ball and big on the boards as always. Jake Morris for the 3rd straight game played an all around good game. Good energy on defense! Seventh grader Braden Stapleton gave good minutes and scored 2 points.

Next up Miami Trace

Jackson 49
Miami Trace 20

MT came out with some crisp offense and led I believe 11-1...then Jackson subbed in some pretty good players and never looked back. All 9 players contributed nicely to the road win. Shout out to Jake Morris and his 3 big blocks. Jackson was called for around 20 dribbling violations, so that was enjoyable.

Tough matchup with Chillicothe at their place Thursday

Looks like Jackson travels to Chillicothe tonight for a big time FAC game? Who are the players to watch for in this one?

Chillicothe 41
Jackson 36

Chillicothe jumped out 9-1 and numerous times Jackson got it it back to 1 or 2 or tied and just could not get over the hump. A crazy game with crazy happenings but in the end Chillicothe made their free throws and Jackson uncharacteristally did not. 17 seconds left Blankenship shot a 3 and looked to be the go ahead bucket....all the way in and then back out. Tough loss but hats off to Chillicothe.

Chillicothe a tough matchup for Jackson...always have been. Long and quick. PG is lightning and they are athletic.

I sure wish we would’ve won...but it didn’t seem meant to be. I believe things will go well from here on out. We have a tough matchup with Hillsboro, a non league game and then the FAC tournament. Can’t wait!

Props to Chillicothe tonight

Jackson played Hillsboro tonight and trailed 11-4 after a few minutes of play. Coach Wallis called a timeout and ripped them like I’ve never seen before...they needed it and from there went on a 28-2 run the rest of the first half. It was everyone, 5 different starters scored 4+ points in first half and most buckets on assists.

Final score was 56-32 and everyone scored and 6 players had 6+ points.

Best team game of the year. Tip of the cap to Coach Wallis.
