Post by Baller156 »

What are your thoughts on this team? Where do you rank them amongst other 8th grade teams?

1. Meigs
2.Jackson/Waverly
Those are the top 3 8th grade teams in SouthernOhio.
Logan and Vinton County are also solid basketball teams.

How do you put Meigs above waverly if they’ve never played each other though?

Basketball is about matchups. I’m familiar with both teams a bit. I think Meigs guards are way bigger and stronger and almost as quick and Meigs has a kid just like Futhey.

They could beat each other but 1 game...my money is on Meigs.

May be a challenge for Waverly this season. I'm hearing a couple of our top players are passing on basketball. Hope the information I'm getting is wrong.

I believe the word is out there that if someone wanted a nice payday for a tourney that these three teams in it would definitely pack the gym....we shall see if anyone acts upon it.......

Let me check with the gym's availability in Waverly. Sounds like some tremendous games to be played, and maybe we can get Chillicothe to come as well heard they have a pretty good 8th grade team.

sounds great!!!! Chillicothe has some outstanding athletes......I have watched a few in other sports play on travel teams as well as their own school kids in all sports as well and Chillicothe has some good talent and the team added to the list of Jackson, Waverly, Meigs, and Chillicothe......what a tournament that would be........

Chillicothe a good team with nice size and maybe the most athletic player...but Jackson will definitely play them 2x and likely a 3rd time in FAC tournament.

Not sure of games limit

Fairland has a great team, I’d pull for them. A little close would be Logan Elm. They have talent.

Waverly scrimmages Piketon on the 20th. Waverly should do well but I’d like to go see the game. I’d like to see how much they’ve improved since last year because I’ve heard that they’ve played aau basketball all summer long with Mark and trey being on the #2 ranked team in the state and will and wade on the #12 ranked team in the state. Should be exciting this year!

Waverly 8th grade gets the win 49-13 over Northwest. Trey Robertson, Will Futhey, and Wade Futhey looked very good tonight. They play at home against valley this Thursday.

Yes, we beat them in every quarter not including the quarter that the 2nd string played the whole quarter. VC has a very nice program and has a lot of size they’re a great team.

Probably about right, No running score. but I know the parents know. He couldn't miss from anywhere.
