7th grade
Waverly 14
West 8 - Waverly scored on the last play of the game.

8th grade
Waverly 34
West 6 - Neither team scored in the second half. West QB is a dandy. I hear he is just a 7th grader.....Wow!

I hear Waverly is trying to get a game with Trimble for next week. Both teams are undefeated.

I thought Athens cancelled their 8th grade team?

I know they canceled the game with our 7th grade team, but it was my understanding that they combined the 7th & 8th grade teams...thus keeping the game with our 8th grade team. This may not be 100% correct this was just hear say!

What happened to all the scores and updates. I'm sure many of us would love to hear how all of the other local teams have been doing. Keep the info coming. Only 4 more weeks left in the Jr. High season!!!

Valley beat East 30-0 Thursday evening.

It was a combined 7th and 8th grade game. Valley 7th plays NW on Wednesday night at home, while the 8th grade plays at Notre Dame Thursday.

Yes West 8th grade qb is a 7th grader. He is a outstanding athlete. West moved up several 7th graders to be able to field a 8th grade team.

Yes the 7th grade group at West is probably the best in Southern Ohio in football and basketball when they are all together

I can see where that could be true. Next year we'll get a better picture for sure as they get to play as a unit.

It would be hard to say in football, but Valley's 7th grade has never been beat by West in hoops when both have full squads. Although the Sandlin kid is the best player on the floor.

I've got relation on both teams. It's middle school so you really don't know how kids will develop.

They both have good athletes. Basketball they both have their days. I know West picked up a couple big kids that really help. They played in the Jackson Summer League with some of the best 8th grade teams around and they were as good as anyone there outside of Waverly 8th.

Football wouldn't be competitive if West didn't move the 5 up.
